All was fine, we enjoyed our stay. I had stayed here before, so knew what to expect. , though this time my room was quite smaller than last time. Had requested ground or first floor, but got 3rd floor. Oh well. Still a great location a at fair price

Great location and easy access from the airport. Stairs are steep in typical Dutch fashion. Be prepared to hear running water if you stay in the basement room every time your neighbor flushes the toilet or showers.

As far as I read most of the reviews before. My experience was great. Our room was clean and pleasing very comfortable to take a rest. Not a typical hotel but fair enough. The great advantage is the accessibility to transportation and close to the city center. I just hope that they will provide even a small elevator for the luggages. The rest was great.

Three friends and I had a reservation to stay in this hotel for three nights while staying in Amsterdam. Our room was in the basement and had a normal hotel lock on the outside door which led to a little hallway with an employee closet and some Christmas decorations. Then the door to the main area with the bedroom didn't have a lock and barely latched. It was obvious that employees had access to the closet in the hallway, so we didn't feel safe that our main door didn't have a lock. We got into the room and the bathroom towels were on the floor, there was a splash of something reddish/brown on the wall in multiple spots including the hallway, mold and water damage on the ceiling tiles, a chunk taken out of the night stand, and a handprint on the corner of the wall and a dent in the wall next to the handprint. In addition to all of this, I didn't feel safe staying in the basement in event of a fire and the stairs down to the basement were very dangerous. We requested a new room and they said that they didn't have any other rooms available for us and didn't offer any kind of help. We didn't feel safe staying even one night, so we returned our keys and found a great hostel nearby. We requested a refund, but the hotel claims that the issues were due to the building being old and they claimed that we didn't give them a chance to fix our issue, so we don't deserve a refund. We emailed management and they failed to respond and reception was not helpful at all. Do not stay here!!!

Away from the bustling centre, but not too far to walk. The rooms were generous clean and safe. The best part was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, a last minute change was handled brilliantly when it could have been a problem. The horse theme runs through every room, adds character to the rooms as long as you don't mind a 8 foot tall horse watching you sleep. I'd use The Iron Horse again when visiting Amsterdam.
