Good
Decent hotel in a great central location
Great location, 2-minute walk from Puerta del Sol and very close to shops, restaurants, bars etc. Friendly hotel staff and eager to help. The room was average and so was the wifi signal in the room. Overall, decent value-for-money accomodation in the city centre of Madrid.

Good location but...
Extremely unfriendly receptionist; claimed at first that there was no reservation and insisted on print-out (which had to be produced from somewhere else). After all that delay (we were under time pressure) insisted on completing every detail of bureaucracy and full payment before anyone was allowed into room. Also, bed had to be moved for bathroom access.

Fair
Great location but noisy.
Helpful staff but building was very, very noisy as it's across the street from a busy disco. Ask for a room at the back. Location excellent, steps from Sol and the Opera house.

Smallest room. Nice Location.
Arrival was fine, but you have to ring a door bell EVERYTIME you arrive. This can be a slight annoyance as you paid for a room but you need permission every time you come and go. You'll have to leave your key with front desk upon leaving which I was fine with. The twin sized room was miserably small. No bigger than a Queen sized bed and a half. Literally! The flat screen tv was mounted at the foot of the bed about 5.5 feet high on the wall and tilted towards the head of the bed. My eyeballs hurt because there was no good point to see the screen unless you stood in the doorway. There is a fan which keeps it cool and the small bathroom needed a shelf or two to place your items. The top of the toilet worked perfectly as a second option. As a bonus the room came with two towels, both of which were damp to the touch along with bleach spots and few holes for added effect. The room is not a quiet respite as there's a kitchen the staff uses to bang dishes and plates around all day and conversations are had at the front desk all times of the night which traveled perfectly to my room. Along with the sound of that buzzer which lets people in. Lastly, laying down at the head of the bed enjoying tv at the oddest of positions I began to notice a smell of sewage. Be warned the smell somehow seeps out into the room of twin sized rooms. I couldnt understand it then, but understood why the window was ajar when I arrived as I left to check out.
