    1 night stay

I came to stay for 1 night. The cleanliness of the hotel was incredible! There were no stains on the bedding nor were there fingerprints on the bathroom mirror or any of the metalwork. It smelt clean and tidy. The staff were also amazing. Friendly and very helpful and informative. The bar staff, same thing. Very friendly and talkative. I really enjoyed my stay! Oh, and the breakfast the next morning... MOUTHWATERING

Very clean room, staff were exceptional, very helpful nothing was to much trouble, Food was excellent, could have done with a stronger ale, For the price it is very good value, Other thing was bed wasn't level, kept rolling to one side. Apart from that I'd still go again

Really comfortable room, clean and well presented. The food available in the bistro was straight forward with plenty of choice. Breakfast was also very good. With both parking and breakfast included in the room rate is without doubt great value for money.

    Business trip

This was an ideal place for a one night business trip. reasonable price a warm welcome and smooth check in. I was able to get a meal at 8.30pm after a drive from London which was tasty and served hot. The room was chilly I had not realised the key card had to go into a device on the wall to activate the heating, I had never seen this before. I am very used to these devices placed by the room door to activate the electricity etc. It would have been helpful to have been informed of this mechanism. Otherwise comfortable stay, good breakfast on offer ample parking in nice grounds.

Mid Term Report - Could do Better

Only there for one night. My single cell was very small but spotlessly clean and newly furnished. Downside TV lamentable signal was awful few if any channels worked, and leak from toilet. 2 poor things in one short stay is not good. Only other problem was breakfast which itself was excellent, but I was joined by a COVID bore who plonked himself at my table then went on about social distancing..he was given short order. The hotel is partly to blame, they were slow cleaning tables and had they been faster I’d have sat at a smaller table so this bore wouldn’t have bothered me.

    Just ok

I don't think Hillscourt should be advertised as an independent hotel its very geared up for the teach training headquarters that's attached to it. teaching headquarters with accommodation for teachers training should be its primary focus .a few things that don't meet basic hotel standards are 1, No Room service 2, No breakfast before 7.30 3, Restaurant only open until 9, - when this is only a Bar area 4, Reception is shared with reception for the Teach training collage. Although the ladies who work on the reception are really really nice and accommodating sadly i wont be back
