Lovely hotel and staff. Week days were quieter as our time clashed with a wedding on the Saturday combined with a group of young lads having a get together (Stag?). It did impact on the ambience, peacefulness and relaxation just was not the same as the stag party used the pool and wedding the veranda where we were all relaxing in the sun.

We arrived at the Grand ,the check in went smoothly and the staff was very pleasant and helpful. Our room was very clean , and had a sea view. We didn't use the pool but it looked very inviting. We had breakfast and a evening meal which was absolutely delicious, could not fault anything . The location was great with beautiful views of the bay . We will definitely stay here again , we highly recommend The Grand Hotel .

Booking in to do prepayment do not accept tesco credit card even though it is Mastercard. Got to room it was ok( certainly not 4* Quality) Doors to balcony not really able to secure.Balcony absolutely filthy. No safe in room. Asked at reception 3 times about safe it was like I had 2 heads. Still not sorted. Breakfast was good. It really certainly needs updating. Downstairs looked good.Outside looked terrible.

Clean room, not such a good view at the side of the hotel (but we were only there one night and there was an Agatha Christie weekend crowd in so understandably they’re not going to prioritize us) 1 night stay double room September 2026 Hotel is a bit tired outside and in, staff friendly enough. You will need a card to place a £20 deposit against your room which they were most insistent on, thankfully a colleague of mine had a physical credit card as I only had my phone which wasn’t acceptable, not happy about that as the room had been fully paid since Feb 26 Breakfast was nice, good selection, porridge made with milk or water, very nice, nice dining room. I would stay again, but be aware, it was Grand 50 years ago but not so much these days

We enjoyed our stay stay at the very characterful Grand Hotel, across the road from the Torquay railway station on one side and the beach on the other, with bus stops closeby too. Breakfast is buffet style and you can book to have afternoon tea or dinner in the Brasserie. All the staff we came into contact with were polite, helpful and courteous. The outside pool was open but as we were exploring the area (we visited Totnes, Paignton, Kingswear, Dartmouth & NT Coleton Fishacre) we didn't have time to use the spa or pool, on this visit. We had a sea-facing room, with windows that opened but the road outside is quite busy, most of the time, so expect traffic noise. There was a portable fan in the room, which was helpful, as it was hot. We'd definitely book to stay here again.

Hotel and staff lovely. Some parts of the hotel are tired. The radiator in the bathroom was on constantly it’s been a hot few days. Amazing stay !!! The room was large with a beautiful seaview. Breakfast was perfect and we ate in The Brasserie two evenings in a row and the food was excellent. Can recommend the Grand Burger !
