Unpleasant at best...
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Location was good. Other than that this was not a pleasant experience. There was no TV in the room and most importantly the Air condition does not work and there are no fans. We were literally sweating in our beds.

They placed us another, similar hotel
Room was spacious and comfortable and the staff were friendly and very helpful. Our only real complaint is that instead of being given a room at A Casa Nostra as we expected, we were given a room at a hotel about 7 minutes away (The H&H, at 25 via Luigi Luzzatti). For all intensive purposes the room wasn't probably that different from what we would have gotten at A Casa Nostra, but I think it is unprofessional to offer a room at one hotel and only inform your guest of the change once they have arrived. It was an inconvenience to have to go to A Casa Nostra and then leave again to the out of the way to the other hotel with all our luggage in tow. The hotel we were placed at was also further from the metro stop. They could and should have informed us of this in advance.

Bait and switch
Booked A Casa Nostra and also a car service with them. Booked this hotel because it was very close to the metro stop. Unfortunately this is not where I stayed. It seems the owner has several hotels in the area and moves people without informing them or giving them an option. The hotel I stayed was further from the metro and did not include the same amenities. Very disappointed.

Family Getaway in Quaint Little Hotel in Rome
This is a small hotel housed in a 300 year old house in Rome - it has a family run atmosphere to it - very cosy, but do not expect 24 hr service, room service etc Plus points: * Location - Directly beside Manzoni metro station - connected to Vatican via metro or to Coloseeum via #3 tram (takes 10 minutes0 * Cleanliness - very clean rooms. Bathroom has very modern look and feel * Staff - Ovidio was exceptionally helpful and friendly - always ready with tips and directions - and ready to have a chat * Breakfast - good, fresh, filling breakfast. You could also take the breakfast yourself if you were going out early - in case Ovidio had not yet arrived to ""serve"" you * Surrounding shops - lots of small groceries and international food shops around in case you are bored with all the pizza/pasta/risotto * Comfortable beds * Adequate free Wi Fi Keep in mind: * Bathrooms had lots of fresh towels and a hairdryer, but no soap/shampoo - so bring your own or buy easily from the shop right next door * Breakfast had only sweet bakery stuff. If you don't fancy that, the kitchen is open to you. Buy some groceries and cook up an omlette! They clean up after you * The rooms look very fresh and new but the building, being 300 years old, looks old from outside. Enjoy it as a part of the experience * Staff are not around all the time. If you want a late check in or early check out, let them know in advance * Beds get made every day, but the sheets do not get changed everyday
