Convenient - helpful staff - plentiful breakfast
Excellent & convenient location -- yet still quiet -- in heavily-touristy San Marco. Quick & easy walk from Rialto vaparetto stop and Piazza San Marco. Lovely and plentiful breakfast every morning with cappuccino, eggs, meats, cheeses, cereal, pastries, etc. Extremely helpful & kind staff. The bed was a little hard (!) and the bathroom was extremely cramped, but still charming for a great stay. Poor WiFi at night.

When we arrived, we found out that our room only had 2 single beds. I requested 2 beds at the time of my booking and informed them that there would be 3 of us. They assumed my wife and I were traveling with an infant. We were travelling with my daughter who was 12. The front desk clerk was friendly; however, she took no responsibility for the mistake. She kept telling me that they didn't know the age of my daughter so they thought she was an infant and could share a twin bed with my wife. The Manager was a bit snide. They offered us a basement room with a private bathroom down the hall from the room located across from the dining room. They would of had to squeeze a third bed into the tiny room. I asked if any other hotels in the area had availability with 2 larger beds. Their sister property had an available room with a twin and double bed. The sister property had a higher star rating so the cost was $80.00 U.S. more than their hotel. We had no other option so we paid the additional money. Their mistake yet we pay more money. They should have given us the room for the same price.

Small hotel with five-star service
Lovely little hotel just behind Piazza San Marco with 5-star service and lots of heart. Tasty buffet breakfast, great area, friendly staff, WIFI. Comfy room with nice hot shower. Original artwork on walls and fully carpeted in public areas and bedroom. Little bar area in reception. Four flights of steep stairs (70 to the top floor) and no lift, so not suitable for those with mobility issues or very small children. Slightly noisy street outside - also boiler on top floor is a little noisy if you have room next to it. Otherwise, perfect. Guests mainly seemed to be groups of adults and solo travellers.
