Frost and Fire Boutique Hotel Rocks

Frost and Fire Boutique Hotel is a hidden gym. The scenery, the tubs, the short walk to a wonderful, little town. We stayed here three nights and loved every minute.

This is a small hotel which may have changed hands since earlier reviews as some facilities not available or different on hotel website. The restaurant is now called Ryka, not Varma. There is a pool and hotpots but no spa or geyser cooked eggs or bread. Our room had clear windows over the carpark and public walkway. We were badly bitten by insects in the room which resulted in blood marks on pillows and sheets. Despite this, the surrounding area, river walks, hotpots, good restaurant food and excellent breakfast made for a pleasant overall stay.

I'm just a bit disappointed that no where did it say the restaurant had changed hands, Google still lists as Varma and I thought we were eating at Varma, we were not, the new restaurant was awful. However the hotel was beautiful and comfortable, breakfast was delicious and the pools are amazing, very pleasant and comfortable stay. Would recommend staying river facing vs car park, the first 2 rooms not the most private as passed to access the others and large glass windows.

    So cute!

Our stay was so good! We enjoyed the hot tub during the day, and loved the delicious breakfast they served every morning. Not to mention the cute eating area with a great view to go with! Coffee (lattes specifically) was available all day long but was a nice addition.

Recommend! Beautiful cozy rooms, clean and everything as described, except the swimming pool was ice cold so unusable which was a disappointment. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant, good service and delicious food. We stayed in a superior room with a beautiful river view.

lovely boutique hotel , in a beautiful setting. Hot tubs were amazing with stunning views of a smoking mountain side. Breakfast was tasty but shame about the lack of hot food. Overall 4/5

Beautiful location and an unique hotel located next to a fast flowing river and geothermal vents. Ideal location in the Golden Circle area. Great restaurant for an evening meal. Staff are helpful and knowledgeable. Breakfast perhaps a little limited.

    Satisfied but not thrilled

We really liked the setting of the hotel, it is in a very picturesque area. The rooms were small, but clean and tidy. Our main concerns were a lack of front desk staff at night, loud drunk guests in the hot tub outside our room after midnight when it was supposed to be closed but there was no front desk staff to address the issue. The restaurant was nice although the claims I’ve seen online that all the food was cooked with hot steam were not accurate when we were there.
