Buyer beware
I am an airline pilot by trade. If anyone knows hotels it’s me. I have to live and work in them when on the road. This place is a dump. I thought I could save some bucks here but next day was at the Hampton inn. For 40-50 more dollars you can get a much better deal. This place is a $30 a night place I paid $60 plus tax. Not worth it. Pay more and stay somewhere better. First no hot water, dirty Pool, on approach and landing path for San Jose airport, monkeys or rats in the wall not sure which but was really odd and annoying. The air conditioner took 3 hours to finally get cold. All the way around if could rate under 0 would. Stay away put your money somewhere else.

I use a wheelchair and had mentioned this when making my reservation. The hotel really accommodated me by installing a ramp at my front door so I could easily get myself in & out of the room. There was also a shower chair in the bathroom, & they assigned me the room closest to the restaurant & office for my convenience. Their on-site restaurant is extremely good & in a lovely setting. The staff is very friendly and helpful. While the rooms are quite basic, they’re clean & comfortable. Their free shuttle to the airport was right on time & the hotel’s close proximity to the airport is really convenient. This was my second time staying at Hotel Brillasol and I’ll continue coming back.

Hotel Brillasol was a wonderful little oasis that is very close to the airport for easy access to an early flight. There was a shuttle from the hotel to the airport but to get to the hotel you need to book a taxi which cost about $8 Canadian or you could book an Uber which would have been cheaper. The hotel has a lovely refreshing pool, a nice restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and supper. The gardens inside the very secure complex are beautiful and even have banana trees! The staff is very friendly and helpful. I went for a walk to the left of the hotel and found myself walking by beautiful farm land. The perfect spot for some peace while in SanJose. The only thing to be aware of is the location of the property is on the flight path of the low flying airplanes. I liked it because you got to see the planes flying very close, but some people might be upset by the sounds.

Simple, good value !
Front desk is extremely helpful with everything ! One of the best eco friendly, mom & pop places I've stayed in, in San Jose. A quick overnight before a flight home Breakfast was awesome! Water is heated by solar so pick your shower time wisely.

Nice little Family Hotel!
Screen door didn't latch & AC didn't cool the room much, but it was very clean & comfortable. Just what we were looking for to unwind after a long day of traveling to a new country. The food in the restaurant was very delicious & portioned just right...left room so we could enjoy dessert! Staff was very polite & very willing to help me find what I was looking for. Rebooked for the night before we fly home. Convenient to the airport!

OK if you need to catch a plane
Hotel is hidden in a quiet neighborhood 15 mns to the airport. AC, spaciousness were the pros of the room. Cons were the mattresses and the foul sewage odor coming from the bathroom; had to close the door to avoid. Breakfast was mediocre, “Gallo Pinto” kinda sucked. The girls at the front desk were very nice & welcoming (plus very attractive). Overall, if the room was less expensive and I was catching a plane, I would stay here again.
