10/10 Exceptional

My wife and I stayed here for 6 nights for our 15th wedding anniversary. What you should look forward to: The staff was very friendly. Our suite was large and open with a fantastic view of Water Bay. The two on-site restaurants served delicious food, especially at Mirador where we were treated like old friends and made to feel special for our anniversary dinner. Three on-site pools, the one that was nearest to our suite was never crowded, a couple of times we had it all to ourselves. The resort is located close to Sapphire Marina where we were able to book snorkeling and sailing excursions. It is also close to Red Hook where you can find shopping, restaurants, and ferries to the island of St. John. What you should be prepared for: A LOT of steps. The resort property is 15 acres set into the hillside and you will be going up and down a lot of natural stone steps to get to any of the pools or restaurants. If there is a power outage on the island the resort loses all water pressure. Luckily that only happened one day during our trip. Also, if you rent a car the driveway up into the resort property is narrow and winding, and there is no guard rail on the cliff-side. However, if you can brave those few obstacles, I would definitely recommend a stay here.

2/10 Poor

My boyfriend and I vacationed here for a week to celebrate our anniversary everything on the island was stunning and all the locals were very friendly and helpful. I wish I could say the same about point pleasant. For starters, the staff there was terrible. Any time we called the lobby to send a resort shuttle to us they were very quick to rush us off the phone and very rude, not to mention the shuttles take about 20-30 minutes to get to your villa and we were only a 5 minute walk to the lobby… we almost missed our activities numerous times because of this. Secondly, We had issues with the wifi in our villa. We’ve called them numerous times for 3 days straight and never came to fix it even tho they said they’d send someone up shortly. Each time we waited for at least an hour only for them to never come. Point pleasant resort does NOT own a generator and because of that we lost power 4 times in 2 days each time we were without power for about 4 hours. We bought $150.00 in groceries in which all of our refrigerated stuff went bad and when we emailed their headquarters about the constant inconveniences they promised us a refund on our room for the 2 days we were workout power to only refund us $26.82. We have never been more disappointed in a hotel stay in our lives and I can say for sure that we will never be staying there again.

Stayed here for 1 week and the views were absolutely breathtaking! The staff were all very nice. The cleanliness could definitely have been better as we found black hairs in the medicine cabinet and one in shower. Being immediately postcovid restrictions, no housekeeping came to our room during our stay. The bed was terrible! Huge sunken valley in middle of bed. This needs replaced pronto, The on site drivers on site are very nice as it is extremely steep. (Have lived in Colorado and NE so I know steep). Walkability to Margartiaville dining was nice. Matador Restaurant on Point Pleasant was way over priced. Walkability to Coki Beach is great! The 2 pools on site are fantastic and were VERY clean! Another thing to consider is either they don’t have backup generators or if they do they didn’t run them when we had a long >20 hr power outage. This made for some very hot rooms!

Very nice hotel, but a lot of walking on our vacation was a bit inconveniencing because the shuttle for the car service closes at 6 pm.

8/10 Very good

The view from the balcony was beautiful and peaceful ( except for the rooster that crowed every morning between 4:00 and 4:30 AM and continued for the rest of the day).. The apartment itself had updated an kitchen and bathroom but the rest of the suite needs new electrical work. There was poor lighting and no convenient outlets except in the kitchen and bathroom areas. Getting around the property required constant uphill climbs. Getting OFF the property is torture. That requires traveling twisty, turning, narrow steep roads. The nearby beaches were clean. The water is blue and lovely. The area outside the property is run down and impoverished, except for the hotels. I would not stay here again nor would I recommend it to anyone else.
