Great hotel, great location, and decent prices. With a few tweaks our stay could have been perfect. The room was quirky, and just the right size for us. Only improvement on the room would be brighter lights as it was quite hard to pack etc with such dim lighting.
We only had one breakfast at the hotel because we were quite dissapointed. The selection was limited, things were not labelled, there was no normal toast, and no english breakfast tea. The host behind the bar took our payment, but didnt explain anything to us about the way it works, but then went on to explain to other guests, so maybe just a minor error on his part. Overall the breakfast was expensive for what we could actually get. It seemed like with the options available that the hotel was trying too hard to appeal to a certain audience but forgot basic breakfast elements. Bacon also very fatty. Better value breakfast in the city.
Food at dinner times was exquisite, and i would highly recommend this. The only downfall was that we ordered desert one night and it was perfect, but ordered the same again the following night and it was missing the fruit that was needed to cut through the chocolate flavours. This made my wifes mousse very sickly and she ended up having to leave most of it, which when you consider the pricing is very frustrating. Annoyingly, a large group recieved their desserts shortly after, which all had the fruit on.
Check in and check out was easy, and the staff at reception were very helpful.
