Advertised as a luxury room with amenities, daily room service, free WiFi and free parking, the perfect location in the old center of West Palm Beach and the fact that this facility is in a beautiful historic building decided my choice. I was here for 5 nights for an arts show and this is what I was looking for. $300 per night in February was not unexpected and would have been a good deal, if the room would have been as described. As I arrived, first I learned, that free parking meant street parking three blocks away. The historic building itself is lovely but needs a lot of updating. The "luxury room" was a far cry from luxury. It was a very small (New Yorker's call it European style) room with the bare minimals, a queen size bed, a small wooden table, 4 chairs (one broken), a small dirty pull-out sofa, one bedside table, one drawer, one table lamp. No pictures on the walls, a mirror set on the floor, two drawers of the drawer were packed or jammed, the others were so dusty that I did not dare place anything inside. There were two small closets, one, which might have been intended to serve as closet, was filled with broken lamps, stuff people had left behind and left over towels and blankets from the previous occupants. The second held a fridge, coffee machine, toaster and collection of plastic cups and utensils. The bathroom is tiny and bring your own shower gel, etc. (weird old bottles can be found under the sink) – and don’t count on hot water every morning. The televisio
