We stayed at the Sea Scape from 1/9 to 1/12 2022 for our 22 Wedding Anniversary. We have stayed at the Sea Scape 3 other times and love the place. It is a little outdated, but it is very cozy, and the beach is literally 50 yards from your door.
We check in late on Sunday afternoon and everything was good. Monday morning, we noticed a sulfur smell when running the hot water, but the smell was not that bad. By Tuesday the smell was bad, and we let the front desk know at about noon. I was told that a plumber would be called to address that problem. At 5pm I walked to the office only to see that it was locked, and no one was on duty. I called the emergency numbers and finally left a message with the owner. When I got a call back, I was told that the plumber was not coming out until the next day which I was never told by anyone on the property before they left for the day. However, the owner drove over and gave us a key to another unit so that we could shower. The plumber showed up Wednesday and worked on the water heater most of the day. By the afternoon we had decided that we were going to drive back across the state to go home.
We did get a refund but that didn’t amount to a full night’s stay that we paid.
Having stayed at the Sea Scape before I was of course not happy with the situation or the resolution. I do understand that sometime things do wrong at the worst possible time. The problem was lack of communication.
We would stay there again.
