    A favorite

This is my third or fourth stay at Freehand Chicago and it won't be my last. The staff is friendly, the rooms are small but very cute and comfortable, and the price simply cannot be beat. This hotel is perfect for a solo traveler or a couple (probably not great for families as the rooms are very small). It's located right in the heart of the city but is close to public transit so you can easily zip to any neighborhood to explore more of the city. I love it here!

Overall good - was disappointed in the service at the bar and coffee bar. Ordered food at the coffee shop that was given away to other guests and never even acknowledged, apologized to, or compensated for. As people who are generally very patient (perhaps because we work in the service industry) it was bizarre to be snapped at by the bartender when politely asking for a working pen to leave our server a tip on our credit slip.

    Family vacation

We really enjoyed our stay, especially our 14 and 15 year old boys. The room was unique, comfy and clean. Loved the bunks! Short walk to Navy Pier/Lake Michigan. Would definitely stay again.

    Convenient!

Pretty hotel, well located. Staff is super nice. Rooms are a little noisy, but what do you expect from a Hostel/hotel in downtown Chicago? If they could make sure pot smokers are away from the doors, my allergies would be grateful. :)

    Disappointed customer.

Very disappointed in general. The restaurant was closed due to renovations & couldn’t even get a cup of coffee early in the morning. The shower stall was too small and cramped for a larger man. Would not stay there again.☹️☹️

    Nice and cute

The hotel was nice, cute, clean, and cozy. Great location. I'm glad that I only had to pay for parking once. Staff was nice. I will definitely come back. The rooms are small but that's normal for a big city.

Our family stay was great during the day. We was out for the night and the so called security personal that is their at night is rude. She rushed us to the elevator while she was down stairs by the lobby talking to her friends and kept asking if we checked in while we was looking for our keys to go up this isn't the first time she was like this with us. Overall great place but the down fall is the rude security personal on the weekends
