When staying in Guatemala City, I always choose Hotel Ciudad Vieja. It's extremely clean, the staff is super friendly, and the restaurant offers delicious meals. The ambiance is peaceful, I feel secure here, and the location is convenient to the airport (just a quick/inexpensive cab or Uber ride away), embassies, and museums, and it is within walking distance of one of the best hospitals in Guatemala (good for visitors or for a stay prior to an early morning outpatient visit). They also have a nice conference facility. I highly recommend it!

Guatemala City visit
Great location, a block from Hedman Alas bus station and close restaurants. Downside was there is no AC and no fans in the rooms, so we had the door open until late trying to cool down. Summertime can get warm in the city!
