Great place to explore Rome on foot
We were in Rome for sightseeing and very much enjoyed staying our 6 nights with Minihotel Azzurra. The location is great for walking to the Vatican, Castel Sant' Angelo, Piazza Navona, Campo de' Fiori, and the Roman Forum. The room faced the street, which is very busy, but our hotel room was equipped with two sets of double paned windows, so very quiet when closed up for the night. Breakfast consists of fresh pastry each morning and the use of an automated coffee machine for whatever you'd like - espresso, cappuccino, caffe latte, etc. or a hot chocolate. We would open the windows in the morning and drink our coffee watching the busy happenings on the street. It is a main road, so there are plenty of restaurants nearby and we didn't have any concerns travelling on foot at night. The operators have an office on the floor with the rooms, but are not on hand 24 hours a day, so be sure to arrange a check-in time before your arrival and buzz in on the brass panel to get access to the building. We'd be happy to come back and stay again the next time we come to Rome.

Great budget option in Rome
This is a great budget option in a city full of pricey hotels. It is centrally located with easy access to the Vatican, Colosseum and Trevi Fountain/Spanish Steps areas. It is right beside a bus stop, a grocery store, and a couple minutes walk to some great local/authentic restaurants, as well as the narrow streets Rome is known for. The rooms are fairly basic, but had everything we needed. Everything was very clean and it was very quiet, which was surprising for the city center location. The included breakfast was an assortment of pastries from a local patisserie and an automatic coffee machine. Staff was friendly and helpful. And the price was great for the very central location. No complaints here. We’d definitely stay again.

A great base in a great location
I have to admit, I wasn't expecting much for what we paid especially for the location but I was presently surprised. The hotel is not easy to find but once you know, you know. We had the right address but didn't realise this was just a grand door with a buzzer. Luckily there is a café underneath who were able to show us. Check in was nice and quick and our room was lovely, big and modern. Cleaned every day and towels changed after 2 days. I would not class this as breakfast even though it is a B&B rate. Breakfast was literally just a small coffee machine and a croissant but its better than nothing. The location of this place is great. 5 mins walk to Castle St Angelo and maybe 15 mins to Vatican. 30 mins walk to Colosseum. Having been to Paris before I knew this was a good location as on an evening I like to spend time around Piazza Navona which is only 10 mins walk away. Once your at Piazza Navona, Trevi fountain and pantheon is only a short walk away from here. Basically we didn't need any public transport from the hotel which was a huge bonus. We ate in a restaurant literally next door to the building, Da Luigi - very good and inexpensive compared to Piazza Navona. Also showed football. Carrefore supermarket underneath hotel. There is no reception here so the hotel contacts you regarding arrival time etc. All communication was great and they also advised us of the best way to get from the Airport which was really useful. A great stay!

Good 6.0
Some compromises
Absolutely great location and great price. Hotel seemed to really be a series of apartments that have seen better times. A little confusing at first because reception is located on floor 1 without proper signs. Elevator is tiny and is a bit inconvenient when moving luggage. Bathroom is tiny, with a sink and towel hooks at really strange heights. There were no shelves to put shampoo or soap in the shower. Internet was out for a third of our stay. Breakfast is store-bought croissants and coffee from a single-serve machine (but the coffee is really good). Staff is friendly and helpful, although there didn't seem to be a 24h reception. If you are looking for a hotel for the location and price, and don't mind some compromises, you should consider this hotel.
