On Hotel Karon Beach
There was some confusion when checking in as we were showing as being from Russia which was quickly corrected. The room we were given was not up to the standard that we were expecting or had used on a previous visit to the On Hotel in Karon Beach. After speaking to the reception it was agreed that we could upgrade our room which we did. The room was always cleaned daily and clean sheets and towels put out daily. The hotel was located in the main high street with plenty of bars and restaurants located in the area. The hotel restaurant / kitchen had a very comprehensive menu if you did not wish to go out.

Good location, Bad staff.
Not exactly the most welcoming staff on check in or when you need something from the front desk. The laundry service is was four times as pricey compared to the hotel I just came from, because they charge per item instead of total weight. The shower did not drain easily which causes the whole bathroom floor to fill with water.

Clean hotel in a great location, not very comfy
The hotel is in a great location, close to the beach, restaurants, and shops. The room was very clean and everything was well stocked. The beds were very uncomfortable though and the water was lukewarm at best. The wifi is also very spotty and we had an entire day where the electricity was out in the whole hotel for maintenance from 9am to 7pm. We were notified of this the day before, but it was still very frustrating. In Expedia the hotel is listed as having options for two beds in a room, and shows pictures of said rooms, but the hotel did not contain any room of this kind when we arrived. Overall it's a fine place for the price and the location is great!

Think twice before booking, it's less than basic!
I strongly recommend you to avoid using this hotel: very poor condition of rooms, basic furniture, horrible view and the worst was shower or rather absence of it - they simply provided a shower head in the toilet (no shower cabin, curtain or anything)! No beach towels, terrible WIFI, no lifts...

How you're ready to stay up until 2:00 AM
Let me start with the one positive comment. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating to your needs. Now the bad. Our room that we had reserved two months in advanced was somehow double booked and we were moved to a room right over the extremely loud and busy street instead of facing the sea. The road it's on is packed with bars and night clubs blasting music, so don't expect to fall asleep until 2:00 AM if your room is on the front end of the hotel. The wifi is non-existent, so if you need to make sure you have a solid connection you'll have to go to a nearby business that offers complimentary wifi. When we got to the original room they moved us to we noticed other people's belongings in there, so we instantly locked the door, went down stairs to the front desk, and waited a little while longer while they found another room to put us in. The towels smelled like mold in the room we eventually ended up staying in, but the staff quickly changed them out. We were supposed to stay four nights, but after the first night we had enough and the manager was more than happy to cancel the remainder of our reservation and issue us a full refund based on our particular situation and their mistake.
