GREAT hotel, incredibly annoying security.
This hotel is fantastic, one of my favorite Marriott properties in the world. The only complaint I have is the security theatre you have to go to through is ridiculous and badly set up. The x-ray machine for luggage, at a hotel, is not big enough for luggage, so they have to whisk your bags off somewhere else and it’s hard to keep track of, and for someone who doesn’t like their luggage to be out of their sight when traveling it’s really disconcerting. The vestibule with the security stuff is also tiny so the things that do fit through the machine end up coming out right against a glass door so you have to hurry and grab your stuff before it all gets thrown off the machine, and there is also a stupid rug right outside the entrance so any luggage you do have doesn’t roll and everything is just a mess. Absolutely love this hotel but the security measures need revamping because they make it almost unbearable, especially considering that Kigali is a very safe place so all the security isn’t even necessary to begin with.
