I wanted to like this hotel. I really did.
PROs: The location was convenient to Boston. The breakfast buffet each morning pretty good. Included in the room price, with something fresh, a yogurt bar and many of the usual suspects. The staff was friendly, and the premises were kept clean. The towels were thick, and the shower had great water pressure.
CONs: The pool was cold and the deck was very slippery. (The addition of a hot tub would be very welcomed and was discussed among other guests.) The bed wasn’t as comfortable as I would have expected for a Westin property. The mattress was hard and the sheets were scratchy. I wish the room had a tub, but the shower was okay.
But the parking situation was the worst.
The front desk said that one QR code should cover our stay, but we had to request a new one each day of our stay. On the last day, there was a new face behind the counter and she insisted there was no need for a new code. She asked if we pressed the Help button (we had). Nobody picked up. Did we call the 800 number on the gate? Did we try the other gate (it was broken, and we showed her a photo). Then she stated that she couldn’t help because it was a city lot.
Look—we just wanted to leave. It should not have been this difficult, nor should we have received so much pushback to get a new code. She finally relented and it worked immediately, but the whole situation left a bad taste in our mouths.
