APA Hotel Shinjuku Kabukicho Tower, Tokyo, Japan
Lively area
This APA hotel had the same setup as any other of the dozen APA hotels in the Tokyo area, so pick according to your desired location. My room was on the 10th floor but I could still clearly hear the hustle and bustle of Kabukicho and the trains from nearby Shinjuku station. The bathroom had a slight mildew-y smell. There’s a free Sento (hot bath) on the top floor but I was unable to go since I have tattoos and they are forbidden in most Onsen.

Very Good8.0
Convenient location in Shinjuku
The location is convenient as it is walkable to JR Shinjuku line and the shopping malls like Odakyu, Lumine etc. Room, however, is small and rather cramp especially with 2 big luggages. Love the availability of the onsen at the highest level.

Recommend staying as a last resort
While the hotel is new, it is not that clean. - Room smelt like smoke - Windows to view the area/city are about a foot wide, which I don’t understand. - Worst part was the shower water pressure. It was horrible as it took forever to take a shower. Again it’s a new hotel?

Great location but last time for me
This is usually my ‘go to’ hotel for business however it will be the last time. I’ve had problems with laundry on almost on every occasion but this time the staff caused me lots of embarrassment. I asked to leave a bag of laundry and told them I’d completed the slip with all items. The lady at reception insisted that he has to count each item in the laundry bag. I advised that I’d completed the slip but she professed that she had to in order to check I’d counted correctly. Her and her colleague then proceeded to empty the bag of used laundry and count each individual item, moving them from one bag to another in full few of the reception and the surrounding guests that were checking in. This was highly embarrassing particularly as the laundry bag contained mostly my underwear. I suggested she check my counting skills somewhere more private but she continued to pull out my underwear for the whole reception to see. I was mortified!
