      Birthday ovenight stay

      We have stayed here a couple of times now. My partner arranged this as a birthday surprise. The rooms and grounds appear to have been refurbished. An absolute delight to stay, immaculately clean, large spacious room, large bathroom, big fluffy towels, refreshments, iron/board and lovely grassed areas outside, so very dig friendly. The restaurant and outside seating area also seem to have been refurbished although due to our pre-arranged plans we didnt have time to dine/drink this time, but will endeavour to on our next visit. We will be returning again. Special thanks to David and the chef (sorry didnt catch your name!) who helped make the stay a fabulous memory, you were brilliant!

      Night at the motel

      Interesting concept of NO reception or staff around apart from 2 lovely housekeeping ladies. Got an email 2 days before with room/cabin number, layout of site and message saying that restaurant was closed but takaway continental breakfast could be collected. not included in the price! Arrived and headed to my cabin to see a man sitting in there with door open saying it was his room for the weekend. Tried to call the number for help, answer machine... saw someone getting out of their car and run into office and back out again. caught her and was told my room had been changed. So much for notification. found lovely housekeeping ladies who explained that they had had to swap some rooms around and that booked rooms are left open with key inside. It did say something on the website about getting access/key. Room was good size, clean , kettle etc good.bottle of water would have been nice, bed a little too soft for me but served it's purpose. TV signal bit dodgy. felt a bit weird coming back late after a function, on my own, and there being no-one around. Not sure I like this concept of no staff around, especially traveling on my own. Hope when the restaurant opens, it will feel better. I went to Weatherspoons for my full English. much better value breakfast.

      Disappointing

      We got our room downgraded on the day of staying. The room wasnt ready at the 1430 check in. We didnt get into the room until 1500. There was a plate of half eaten food outside our room the whole time we were there. The bathroom was uncomfortably small had to open the door to get dried from a shower! The mattress was thin and hard making an uncomfortable sleep. So disappointed

      single room overnight stay

      Arrived late in the evening. Sat nav took narrow back road in which wasn't ideal. Self check in was only ok as I did not have children with me. searching for room in the dark was not ideal. The room itself was small (1 single bed) but clean, modern, and comfortable and adequate for an overnight stay. No food on offer and no real local food shops showing on the map. Telephone signal not great on my network. Fine for what I needed. Will use again now I know to bring food with me and how the property is laid out!

      The location was wonderfully quiet. Room was not well designed for 2 people. Bed making and top up of complimentary refreshments. Lack of facilities was not reflected in the price making it poor value for money.

      Over night stay for local wedding.

      Rooms and layout of complex very nice. Beautifully clean and attention to detail. Breakfast room not yet reopened on our stay but lovely room. Shame breakfast not included. Good parking facilities. Lovely staff member was on site.

      Not what we expected

      We booked for a 3 night stay as we were visiting our son in pentney. The room was small but served a purpose, the floor was filthy and we had to purchase floor wipes to clean it ourselves, we went to reception on our second evening to enquire about an evening meal, only to be told that no food was being served as they didn't have a chef, so each night we had to go and find somewhere for food. The kettle started leaking water on the second night, so we had place a towel under it and empty after each boil.
