The Diamond of South East Asia.
What an amazing Hotel, set onnits own island with ferry transfers to the mainland every few minutes. The condition of the hotel and surroundings were excellent. Cleanliness and hygiene were really really good. The jewels in the crown were the Staff, they were 1st class and did everything they could to make our stay amazing. As far as 5 star hotels in Vietnam go, this has to be the best one we've stayed at. We found HaLong Bay area to be a little quiet, so we asked to transfer part of our stay to VinPearl In Nha Trang (I'll do a review on that resort a little later), the staff were extremely helpful and organised everything for us. I have to say, I've stayed in Hundreds of hotels and this one is by Far the best I've stayed at. Cannot fault anything. Well done VinPearl HaLong Bay and thank you for a fabulous experience.

This is a hotel on an island. That sounds daunting but when you realize there are boats back to mainland (that take about 5 minutes) and they operate 24 hrs a day, it is easy to forget. This is a true 5 star property. Great amenities and we had an amazing suite type room with stellar views. I highly recommend this hotel.

Warm indoor pool is fabulous in cold December
The most outstanding facility for us at Vinpearl Resort in cold December is their heated indoor pool on the 3rd floor. You can have a comfortable swim early in the morning or late at night, and the pool was relatively empty each time we visited it over our three-night stay. The boat transfer to and from the ferry terminal to the resort island is frequent and convenient, allowing us to make frequent trip out to Halong town and visit the seafood restaurants nearby the ferry terminal. The resort's breakfast spread was generous with both western and local dishes. Do try their prepare-on-request beef, chicken or meat ball pho (soup rice noodles), excellent. The rooms were spacious, clean and generally comfortable. All in all, an enjoyable stay.
