It's not very far but the property is a bit of a uphill walk from the Hakone-Yumoto station. We were happy with the facility and the service there. The food (dinner & breakfast) was very good as well.

Old, but nice hotel.
The location of the hotel was not ideal for walking from the train station. The staff was friendly, the included breakfast was awesome, but the stay didn’t include a dinner. The town closes early, so customers need to eat dinner by 4pm or they may not find a place to eat dinner.

Near to bus stop if you take the "K" bus from Hakone or Motohakone. Remember to call the hotel once you reach the station so that they can send their shuttle bus to pick you up. Breakfast and dinner were great and my son and I really appreciate the waitress who explained to us on the dishes that were laid out in front of us. Japanese hospitality :-). The onsen in the room is fantastic and they even teach you how to put on the Yukata.

A comfortable hotel
We have stayed in the hotel for 2 nights. The staff was helpful and nice. They spoke good English for city guide. The room was perfect with a view of mountain and a private hot spring. The dinner and breakfast were delicious. You need to walk 20 mins from the train station. Or you can go to the tourist centre and asked the staff to call the reception for the arrangement of a shuttle bus from 2-6pm.
