It was raining from our ceiling. There was a steam of dripping water rushing down along the cabinet and puddled on the floor. Appears to have been there for a while because the cabinet was warped and the ceiling was darkened. The maintenance gentleman responded quickly, and was very empathetic. Unfortunately, they did not have another room available. We put towels down on the floor to avoid slipping. No credit on the billing but they offered a free night in the future.

Not a good experience at all
The air conditioning was not working on a boiling hot day in summer. Rather than let me know, I was given a key card. I went up to find fans all over and no air. Went back downstairs to front desk where he apologized and said several floors didn’t have air conditioning. So I was given another room that also didnt have air AND the window didnt open. I went to Frontdesk again and after sitting there for 30 mins, a room magically became available. It had air conditioning. So frustrating. Terrible experience. No comp for all the trouble. Windows didnt close properly on top and so the street noise was very loud all night.

Poor and Disappointing
This is meant to be a Small Luxury Hotels of the World group hotel. And this was a deciding factor when I booked the hotel. I cannot believe this hotel is of the standard for that group. I got a room on the second floor which looked right onto a roof and gutter. There was zero natural light - in fact despite it being blazing sunshine outside you could not tell whether it was night or day in the room. You could not see the sky from the window. See photos The room was tiny! If you have a suitcase you will not be able to fit it into the actual room - there is that little floor space. The downstairs communal areas were all under construction so there was literally no where to go other than lie in the bed or go outside into the city. If you are 2 people do not stay here as the room is too small. I asked the concierge for recommendations for restaurants in Soho. His response was: It’s New York City there are tonnes of places - I have no recommendations. This is the concierge - whose job is to help guests. When I complained about the room they told me because I had booked through hotels.com they couldn’t do anything and versus if I had booked direct. They then tried to charge me to move me to a different room. Whilst the manager was friendly he wouldn’t really resolve anything I would NOT recommend this hotel. It was expensive and terrible value for money. The only positives were that the bed was fine and the bathroom was decent.
