6/10 Good

Very Basic
The lication to Glacier Park was great. However, there are no modern amenities such as a mini fridge nor television in the rooms. The walls are paper thin and the breakfast was a piece of cake and coffee.

Its an old building, next too a railway, so, you'll hear every creek and train that passes. But strangely, this did not bother us. It felt very in keeping with is sourrndings. Its convenient to get into West Glacier and the restaurant we thought was brilliant, really tasty food. Staff were really friendly and useful. I'd stay again.

Not-so-good stay due to train noises which we were not aware of

Would stay here again
Overall this is a very good place to stay. It is located right on the highway and our room was noisy in that we were facing it. The service is excellent and their on-site restaurant was good. Very close to the west entrance of Glacier National Park

This place is for you if you like trains!! We arrived on a Tuesday and they came every hour from 7:30pm to 8:30am. The trains stopped because we went tot the park. It’s always a red flag when they give you a white noise machine and ear plugs It’s nuts no one mentions the trains. We got used to it by day 3. lol.

The staff was always nice and helpful. However, the hotel is next to an active railway. The passing trains can wake you up a couple times per night. They offer earplugs and a white noise machine, but they didn't help. Also, it seems like they have a few parking lots less than rooms available, you got to park your car early, otherwise you will be forced to improvise. I appreciated the early complementary coffe and muffins. The room was clean...

Lovely OLD chalet. The day girl at the desk very friendly and helpful. the morning girl kind of grumpy. I went to get a muffin and coffee in the morning and they were out of muffins. I asked her if there were more and she said no. A bit later I went and got more coffee and there were a ton of new muffins out. No sure why she lied. Located very close to the park entrance. Restaurant was lovely.

4/10 Fair

I must confess I did not read reviews closely enough. It seems you either love this place or you dont. On opening web site Hotel is described as 5 Star. In terms of location and nearness to Glacier NP it is excellent. It is also historically quaint. However, we arrived with weather in high 90s. No aircon in what was a very small room, no fridge/microwave, limited car parking and in the evening we arrived a very unsympathetic receptionist. Certainly not 5 Star in my rating and definitely worth the cost of booking We decided to go for meal in adjoining restaurant only to find they had no beer. The only positive was they allowed me to cancel the following 2 nights for $49 . This was well worth it even tjough booking somewhere else at short notice cost an arm and a leg. I should also point out the different receptionist in the morning could not have been nicer.

This is a unique hotel. It is very old so the rooms are small. They are clean and cozy. The train comes by every few hours and is noisy, this didnt bother us. However you can hear people talking next door and when the people above us walk the squeeks from the flooring woke us. . If you are looking for a 5 star, this would not be it. If you are looking for some history and something a bit diffetent. Its a nice place. Staff was great, restaurant was very good. We enjoyed it.
