Nice hotel. Too far off the main road.beach is private but not easily accessible for swimming due to rocks. Great customer service and serene location but I don’t think it’s worth the price I paid especially given no New Year’s Eve activities

As we were travelling to Kenya, we wanted to find a hotel that was typically Kenyan and we could not have found a better place to stay at. The houses looked like beach Bungalows with a wonderful garden and a swimming pool. Although we did not use the swimming pool, just outside there’s the most beautiful white sand beach with palms growing along the coast. The service was excellent and the manager Wycliffe was super friendly and made sure every minute was a perfect minute. We have a three course dinner every day that was cooked at a convenient time for us and it tasted really good!! If I ever return to Kenya, this would be the place I would sleep in. I hope to see the friendly people working at this hotel once again in my life.

Lovely staff
The service was great. The mattresses weren’t comfortable. There were a number of bugs that looked like large ants in our room. The food was okay. Breakfast and dinner were included. There were more choices at breakfast. There is a very limited menu for dinner. I think there were three entree choices each night. There are two or three dinner menus that are rotated throughout the week, which resulted in us eating the same dinner at least twice during our stay. I loved the fresh flowers in our room. We enjoyed using the pool. It was very quiet. Be aware that this facility is on a dirt road that is quite a distance from all the shops. We took a tuk tuk to get to a more northern location of Diani Beach. There are small porches with a table and chairs that face the pool and other rooms. The landscaping was nice.

The resort is cute, the pool is lovely, the staff are kind and accommodating, and the prices are great. We had a great week and wouldn't hesitate to return! Based on other reviews, I was a little unsure about the Kinondo Poa beach, but I was very pleasantly surprised! Not only is it private, deserted, and beautiful, it is lots of fun at both low and hide tide, as long as you have beach shoes/sandals. At low tide it's fun to explore the tide pools. And there is a great spot for swimming at mid or high tide just a short walk north: a paved "road" that has extends out into the sea. At low tide it's completely exposed, and at high tide you can find it by looking for a striped marker pole on the beach. (If you get to the large jutting rock & caves, you've gone too far.) The "road" is wide enough for two or three people to play in the waves side by side, with no fear of sea urchins or stubbing toes on coral. Perfect! Any time we headed to the beach, the staff brought loungers and mattresses and set them up under the palm trees. The sand at the Kinondo Poa is less powdery than the main part of Diani, with more shells, and the hotel is a short walk from the beach, so you don't feel the evening sea breeze quite as well. We enjoyed eating out by the pool in the evening as it was cooler than the restaurant area.

Me and my husband had a wonderful time! Check went very smooth they gave us a refreshing drink as soon as we walked in. They will serve you all three of your meals when ever you want and even at your room. We were able to have lunch right after check in. They really mean when ever you want, we were able to get breakfast at 4 am when we had to leave. Every meal has a fish, non fish, and veggie option and all our meals were good. The a/c was wonderful after not having it. It did stop working but when I told them they moved us right away. It is very quiet with a nice pool. They have a private beach and only had two people trying to sell stuff in the after noon. The owners are very nice and take pride in their resort I was very happy to meet them. You might need to ask what there is to do other then relax we went snorkeling with our previous tour guide.

If you like quietness, good service and delicious food, go there. We had a great rest after the safari trip in a beautiful surounding. Houses are not luxury, but very authentic with the colours of Kenya. Every day our rooms were decorated with the flowers. It takes a few minutes to reach the beach with sunloungers under the tree shadow. It's so peaceful and calm there, only one beach boy is working at the coast. He is very friendly, brought us fresh coconuts every day. Amazing staff is working at this resort. They did everything to do our stay comfortable and safe. We could choose the mealtime and the eating place. Waiter Julius helped us to arrange transport to Diani beach and shopping centers for souvenirs. Other waiter (tall men, sorry, i don't remember his name) always met us with classic music during our dinner. One minus, that we didn't have hot water in the shower. All in all, we loved our stay in Kinondo Poa very much.
