The lady was nice and accommodating. The property is pay-upon-arrival. So bring cash! Walking from the port to the property is an easy 30min walk. The roads are dirt roads, so walking with heavy luggage isn’t ideal. Just pay a taxi to drive you if you don’t want to walk. The small strip of restaurants and stores are right next to this place.

This block around town had a sewage problem and the whole area smelled. It was apparently a city problem that stopped the pumping process. The property had a kitchen with fridge for guests to store and prepare food. Cleaning was ok-ish. Good for a couple of nights.

Good for price
The check-in was confusing. There was no one at the hotel to check me in. The owner told me to go across the street, which was confusing to figure out where the office was. Staff was nice. The room was clean but a little outdated. Good atmosphere. It’s a room to shower and sleep with air conditioning.

Good value and experience.
Great place to stay for a couple nights. Had a little issue initially finding the location as it was around the corner of the main street, but had no issues once there. Had good service when required, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Would stay again.

The property was beautiful and had excellent views of both the beach and the lagoon. Across the street, there was the Bar de Beto which offered beautiful ocean views and excellent drinks and company.

The hotel is very well located and is super charming. Although not directly on the beach, it has great beach vibes. The young woman who runs the hotel is outstanding, she does it all and is very dependable! The only negative would be the (many) roosters around the property, we luckily had earplugs so we slept ok. I would absolutely stay there again if in Isabela!

The owners are kind and hardworking. The property is close to the beach. They run a nice bar which is right on the water. The room was big and clean. A/C works great. Close to many things. Only downside - the roosters. Bring ear plugs and you’ll be fine. Also - the room is very bright. Bring a sleep mask if you want to sleep in

Loved this property. It is on the other side of town from where you arrive on the boat, but it is on the best side of town. Right next to this property is miles of beach and awesome bar. Property has several hammocks located in the bar. For check in I went straight to Beto's Bar (Bar de Beto) and the owner helped me right out.

The hotel is located just steps away from the beach and waterfront. It may be simple but has everything you need to truly enjoy your stay on Isabela. The owners are very hospitable and friendly folks. The view from the Beachside hammocks at the hotel's Bar de Beto is priceless.

6/10 Good

The WiFi was nonexistent in the room and barely worked at the other property associated with this hostel. We booked a room with two double beds and a balcony but were given a ground floor room with three single beds. The woman owner accused us of booking the wrong room and then trying to sneak an extra person in on the reservation when the confirmation from Expedia clearly showed she was wrong and she just wanted an excuse to charge us more money. Around 4:30am the first night someone came around knocking on the doors, strange and a little discomforting.

Unique and clean building.
The main site with a lot of rooms is maybe 50 yards behind the other building that’s beachfront and the bar. That’s the building with the WiFi and reception desk. The hosts were very sweet and helpful with great restaurant recommendations. Room was nice, clean, bed was comfortable, hot shower and private bathroom. 1 thing they probably can’t control was the noise made my neighboring roosters at 5 am, which actually helps you get up and going for the day for your tours but miserable if you spent the night partying and wanting to sleep in. Decent price too.

Odd set up.
Whilst the room was ok apart from curtains that didn't really give you privacy or in the shower where there were none on the double window overlooking the street or the fact there was a metal ceiling (Air con was good) because we were on the 3rd floor, the office was a bar across the street. No office really just a bar. There was never anyone around, we appeared to be the only ones in the building. The maid however did a good job making the room up although we never saw her either. To be honest we thought the set up was a little unusual. Wouldn't stay there if ever visiting again.

Hopeless & Clueless
Waited outside the closed reception for some time we wondered around the area and was advised of the address of the owners, up the road and around the corner. We walked into the rear bar area and called for attention. A head appeared, as though just woken up, and came down to register us. Shown to our room across the road we pointed out the closed reception only to be advised that there was no reception ( the sign still says reception). The rooms were ok, although the patio door didn’t lock and curtains were not provided over the bathroom windows. Security and privacy are over rated at this venue. We used a piece of furniture to secure the patio door and hung a towel in front of the bathroom window - well someone had to fix it. Rooms were clean but otherwise uninspiring. It’s a good job we printed our booking and brought it with us otherwise the owner wouldn't have know what we had booked and the price to be paid, since he took the information directly from our paperwork. At the end of our stay we were due to take a tour and then the ferry back to Santa Cruz. Unlike anywhere else we had stayed throughout the islands, this hotel said they had nowhere to store luggage, hence we took it with us and left it with the tour company. This was definitely the biggest mistake we made on our trip and would not recommend anyone stay here. Hopeless!

Hostel has 2 buildings
the hostel has 2 buildings, one on the ocean and the other across the street and down a half-block. Unless you get an ocean front room, you will be across the street. The room was clean and the bed was acceptable. Importantly, the A/C worked well! The hotel is on the far side of town from the docks, and beyond most off the restaurants, so it is on a quiet part of the beach. The beach is lovely, with fine sand and lava outcroppings and a small surf. The owners have a beach bar area as part of the hostel with reasonably priced beer and soft drinks and too expensive mixed drinks. Its a nice area with hammocks, tables and chairs to relax and watch the sun go down after a day exploring the island.

descent hotel close to the beach
The hotel is close to everything. You can walk to the beach, to different restaurants and shops. The room was descent, but I wish their electrical outlets were better. There was no breakfast in the morning though.
