La Bougainvillea Hotel and Villas

La Bougainvillea is a nice place to stay, and it seems like it's on a good path but it's not as polished as it should be for the price. On the positive side, this hotel has a beautiful beach, a pool, a fashionably designed lounge with games, a popular (if overpriced) restaurant, etc. The service is extremely friendly too, but not necessarily super thoughtful - for example, you might ask someone on staff where to find a beach towel and they'll say, "They're usually over there but they seem to have run out" and then walk away without actually helping you find a towel. It's a small thing but it's emblematic of a gap relative to most 4-star hotels that shows up in other places too, e.g. rickety fixtures, wifi that doesn't reach the rooms, a $30 fish wrap that's drenched in sauce and doesn't have enough fish in it to justify the price. Again, all small things, which may well improve with experience and a little more attention to detail. For a new hotel, it's off to a good start, could easily be a great hotel in a year or so.

We couldn't have picked a better place to take a much needed couples vacay ! We have traveled around to many of the islands . In our opinion, nothing beats Eleuthera ! La Bougainvilla is one of the nicest boutique resorts out there ! The beach is breathtaking , water is as clear as glass. The food at the resort was scrumptious ! We never had to leave ! Tom and staff were very accommodating to our needs. We will definitely be returning ! Love this place !

The location is beautiful they have a great pool, rooms are gorgeous and very clean! The food at the restaurant is delicious. The staff are lovely and helpful. Would come back here and stay again!!!

Beautiful hotel. Owner was on hand all the time and very attentive and welcoming as was the rest of the staff. The hotel was amazingly 10 footsteps from a stunning beach. Beautiful pool. Delicious restaurant and drinks, though a bit pricey and limited options but standard for the island. This is a good place to stay if you just want to relax and not have to be on the go for a few days. Fly into Governor's Harbor airport, as the North Eleuthera airport is over an hour away. Also could be good to rent a car $80 a day and explore the island. They bring the rental to the hotel for you.

My husband and I rent out two properties on VRBO so we have very high standards. That said, La Bougainvillea exceeded all our expectations! We were greeted with Bahama Mamas by the most accommodating and gracious staff EVER!! Everything was absolutely perfect! I just can't say enough about this lovely place. The photos don't even do it justice. We'll definitely be back!

Oh my goodness if I could give this hotel a 100 starts I would do! It is simply perfect. Our room was large spacious and with a fabulously comfortable bed we overlooked the ocean. Every detail was taken care of and as the staff said to us they wanted us to feel at home and we did. Lovely outdoor space to sit and relax tables and chair as well as a large day bed. Fantastic infinity swimming pool and super loungers then further loungers over looking the sea. A few seconds walk to the beach which again is simply stunning and unspoilt. The food is exceptional. Excellent choice and their French chef always has daily specialties. I honestly cannot fault this hotel and cannot recommend it highly enough. I have to thank Thomas (owner) and Kezang (manager) for giving us the most perfectstay in paradise.

A lovely facility in paradise located on one of the most beautiful beaches with gorgeous water. Eleuthra is not for everybody, as it is difficult to get there, and it is a path less traveled with fewer amenities. It is not a great venue for small children or restless teens. For the adventurous adult that wishes to escape everyday life in picturesque surroundings, this place is terrific.

With no reservation or enticement i can honestly state it was one of the most magical and beautiful place we have ever been to. It was my 10 year anniversay and i wanted it to be a special moment that my wife and children would never forget. The obvious was the beautiful blue relaxing water and island but it was much more the hospitlity and kindnesss shown by hotel manager Sofie and owner Tomas and their lovely staff Chris and Chef Mario showed us was at times embarassing. Sofie lent my wife a beautiful dress on our day and got us a pastor. Tomas had his beautiful staff decorate and coordinate the event with music and flowers (thank you Chris) and not on that day but everyday Chef Marios concern for our two young children's well being always preparing the most delicious meals to satisfy-our familys needs. They were witnesses to our10 year anniversary making them family as the owner Tomas and his staff did not have to show this kindness and care but he did(Tomas even got dressed up for the event blazer and all) they laughed and cried with us during such a beautiful moment that they will always be near and dear in my heart and can not wait to go back and we will. I thank them for going above and beyond the monetary exchange and make us feel so welcome ( Sofie even got us a tour guide Derek that became a friend and led the religious serice during the reneviewing of our wedding vows) the island is heaven on earth but the staff are simply angels .

We weren't lucky with the weather, but the rest of the stay in Bougainvillea was magic. Super friendly staf, excellent room, excellent facilities, good food. Sophie's (the manager) hospitality and warm was welcome can not be beaten. We had a great time.

This was one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen and we had it all to ourselves! The wall of our room opened to a gorgeous beach view and the sound of the ocean. Restaurant was consistently delicious and staff was friendly and extremely helpful. I would highly recommend if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle and experience the true Eleuthera. Note: if you stay here you MUST rent a car!!
