Private paradise
If you want to get away from everything and everyone, this is a gem. S P A C I O U S house just steps from a beautiful private beach and crystal clear water. Super clean well stocked house. We spent a week and it seemed like a month.

Nice Place
Great house and property. Didn’t get lucky out front on the flats but that’s why it’s called fishing and not catching.

Fantastic stay, beautiful house - cant wait to visit again
Scot was an absolutely wonderful host who was very quick to answer questions and on top of that everyone in town knows who he is and was very quick to respond to questions. He also has a list of people for you to contact if you need help with anything. The house itself is a marvel when you consider the location. Sunrises on your own private beach and sunsets over the other side of the water. In addition, Scot keeps the house stocked better than any rental house I've had in the States. The kitchen has everything you will possibly need for a week or longer. The wind/solar power/water catchment system was cool and we did not have one issue over the week. And as off the grid as the house is, Scot has very reliable wifi in the house and Sling TV so that you have some basic tv channels for the week. If you have never visited the Out Islands before, do take the advice of everyone and buy a decent amount of groceries in Nassau or Ft Lauderdale. We bought a small collapsable cooler from Amazon and brought meats, cold cuts, coffee and other snacks. Saved a lot of money and time. If you do need something in town, it might take several stops to find. The supply ship stops in Fresh Creek on Wednesday and Fridays and even then, you might not find what you want or a place that is supposed to be open might just randomly be closed when you get there. I would highly recommend renting a car for your trip if you think you will need to leave at all. Perfect house for a DIY fishing trip. There are miles of world class fishing flats for you to explore right off the beach and you will never see another soul the whole week. The only people we saw on the flats were a couple of women gathering conchs one afternoon. Otherwise, you have square miles of flats to yourself. You could fish for a week - which we did - and barely scratch the surface of all the flats and coves to explore. Saw tons of boenfish, small reef sharks, rays, flatnose, puffers - everything right off the beach. We fished so much right off the beach that even over a week we did not take the kayaks out once to explore anywhere else. The absolute only thing I could think of at the house would be to add a small a-frame type rod holder for folks that come to fish. But we setup a couple of deck chairs and it worked just fine! Thank you so much Scot, we cant wait to get back.

Great house on a private beach
Great house on a isolated bay. If you like to be away from it all this is the house for you. The owner has thought of everything including the most well stocked kitchen I've ever seen in a rental. The kayaks are a great way to get around the bay and find less fished flats. The screened porches off every room let you be outside bug free. Hope to be back. It's perfect.

"Perfect" is not big enough a word for this place..
We were five guys on a week-long bonefishing trip who had the good luck to stay here. Having waded flats on other Bahamas islands, Belize, Turks and Caicos and the South Pacific, the flats right off the beach here are some of the finest I've ever seen. Then there's the house - an engineering marvel of sustainable living coupled with a well-planned and aesthetic layout. The kitchen is fabulous, the bedrooms are all roomy and comfortable, the views are off the charts. Cocktail hour on the upper deck overlooking the flats let us sight bonefish from the comfort of a padded deck chair. The locals were all friendly, helpful and helped make this a great trip. We'll be back for sure!

Amazing home, remote and comfortable
This review must start with gratitude. Thank you, Scot, for sharing your home. It is a special home in a special location and was just what we were looking for. Our first trip to the Bahamas and not looking for busy resort glitz - instead, the birders, naturalists, readers, kayakers, tide pool explorers in our family were all so nourished by this week on Andros. The home is very well cared for. Clearly the owners are taking care to screen their visitors. The "off the grid" is inspirational and very easy to get used to. No impact at all on our creature comforts. Some of us were making good use of the wifi, others the kitchen - well stocked with anything you might need - even sharp knives - which I often find are missing in rental homes. The house is laid out in such a way that everyone can be inside in their own "corners" and can barely hear each other - then big spaces to gather . The porches are amazing - even critter proofed with screening under the floor planks - truly large outdoor areas - private and comfortable. We had quite a few no see ums the first day or so - then winds picked up and barely any for the rest of the week. The water in the bay near the home is crystal clear and sand is soft beneath the feet. You are off the beaten path - and we hoped we wouldn't feel we "needed" anything. We had shopped for some meat, veggies, cheese, hummus , bread and crackers on Nassau before we flew to Andros. Once we landed we did not want for a thing! You really could stay on the "compound" for a week and have all you need. Again, thank you! You answered so many questions ahead of time, Scot, and made sure all was ready for us. We left dreaming of an annual family trip!

Absolute Paradise
There were 8 of us and we stayed for 2 weeks and it was as close to perfect as you can get. The house is extremely roomy and perfect for a large group. The kitchen utensils and basics and linens were extremely well stocked. We were told ahead of time that the grocery selection on the island was limited, but with pre-planning and creativity we managed just fine. We found the people on Andros to be extremely helpful and friendly. The house is quite isolated which, for us, was part of its charm. Use of kayaks was a bonus. We had a few minor questions to sort out at the start of our stay but Scot answered our queries promptly and efficiently. This is the perfect place if you just want to relax, do some fishing and get away from it all. We would love to go back!
