Le Haut des Lys, The Originals Relais (Relais du Silence)

We had a very nice one night stay at Le Haut des Lys. Its a good location to visit Tours. The location is on the edge of Villandry village, just a 10 minute was walk to restaurants and the Chateau. Rooms are really nice and have air conditioning. The owner Pascal was very friendly, charming and helpful. We will definitely stay again

Location was good and the overall property too. The room was not comfortable as expected (at least not as advertised).

This is an outstanding place to stay to enjoy the many joys of the Loire Valley! Pascal is a phenomenal host and is so helpful with information about the hotel and the area. I stayed in one of the adjacent annex rooms and enjoyed eating dinner one evening at the table/chairs outside my room. The setting is very quiet and peaceful - and you're not far from access to any number of chateaux or other great sites in the area. The dinner buffet selection onsite is great and very convenient if getting back late after a long day of sight-seeing. The bathroom is enormous and a welcome relief after small central Paris bathrooms! :) I especially appreciated having a small refrigerator in the room and the storage space was excellent as well. The patio has comfortable furniture and the garden area within the enclosed walls is very lovely/peaceful if you want to take a little stroll or sit in a very pastoral setting. The proximity to the Villandry chateau is of course great and I'd highly recommend the short climb to the top of the tower to enjoy the beautiful views of the gardens!

Fabulous hotel in a great location. Wonderfully modern rooms in the the french countryside. Hotel is spotless, service is amazing, and breakfast is delicious. Not much more you can ask for! Can't wait to return.

I have seldom given 5 stars for perfection but Le Haut des Lys deserves them. This small hotel is a gem. The owners are always present making sure their guests are well taken care of. Set in a beautiful countryside estate, formerly a boarding school and totally redone 5 years ago, this "hotel de charme" is located just outside the lovely village of Villandry, a few minutes away from one the most beautiful castle and gardens in the Loire Valley. The location is perfect as a base to explore the area. The rooms are very comfortable and the breakfast is very good. It is worth mentioning that this hotel is part of the brand "Relais du Silence", a group of similarly charming and quiet hotels throughout Europe and managed as their owners' association. Definitely worth looking into that brand when visiting Europe and selecting "Le Haut des Lys" when in the Loire Valley

Wow almost doesn’t cover it, just a truly lovely experience. We stayed in a room with a private terrace and hot tub at a genuinely good price, well worth every penny. The Château makes you feel special as you drive through the gates, it’s gorgeous. The owners were so welcoming and show you to your room and where everything is. The room was small but perfectly formed. Lovely comfy bed with clearly high quality linen. Bathrobes and towels all very high quality too. Really nice spacious bathroom with a bath and shower. The hot tub was obviously a huge bonus, nothing quite like sipping bubbly while relaxing in a private tub with your other half and watching the night come in. The owners have tried to think of everything to help like tv channel listing printed out for you so you can easily find English/ French/ German etc. Villandry town, caves and chateau well worth a visit too. I would come back here in a heartbeat and very likely to make a return trip or three.

We stayed for a night here in August with fantastic weather. The hotel is tastefully renovated and the staff were very friendly. The E’tape Gourmand restaurant a few hundred yards away is lovely with a beautiful outside terrace under the trees and is clearly very popular with the locals so you must book. The Chateau de Villandry is well worth a visit and the gardens are breathtaking.

First stop on a 3000 Km drive and we arrived late. checkin was great and they booked at us a local restaurant before they shut. Rooms are lovely and modern. A lovely setting and a great start to the holiday - I would recommend

Oh, what a great place and a story! Family ran, small, clean, welcoming place! Great base to explore Tours area of Loire Valley! So peaceful...we didn't want to leave. Great breakfast (add 12EUR per)
