1st room dirty and the bed sheets had not been changed, trash in the trashcan etc. Told the front desk and they gave us another room. 2nd room also dirty, massive amount of hair in shower, drinking glasses dirty, dishwasher not unloaded, dusty and sticky kitchen floor. The next day we noticed unprofessional/unfriendly cleaning staff wearing sloppy everyday clothes. Breakfast was advertised to be much more than it was. No breakfast meats, there were instant eggs and other things that were prepackaged. Breakfast lady in sloppy clothes. For the price of this hotel I expected the service to be much more than it was. The construction is newer and very nice. But the work staff seems to not have been trained. They should be outfitted with neat and clean uniforms, not sloppy clothing, which can reflect a lot. I was told I would get a partial refund. Ten days later, I needed to get on the phone with Expedia for an hour and do it myself!!! Therefore I felt that I must give others a warning, and also hope that upper management at Marriott can understand how they are failing the reputation of this establishment, by not teaching or holding the staff to higher standards and probably underpaying them. With all this in mind, Residence Inn by Marriott Lynchburg is at least double what the price should be per night. I won't stay here again.
