Wonderful stay with family and friends
I absolutely love the Waypoint. This was my second time staying here- and I loved every minute of it. The staff is kind and attentive! Will be back again soon!

I would give all five stars if it weren’t for the construction noise that begins at about 7 am and continues to about 5 pm. We were told the construction should be done in a year or so. Otherwise, we loved the unique vintage trailer concept and experience, not to mention the location, which is walking distance from downtown and the pier.

pleasant stay
pleasant stay & clean accommodations, but not peaceful as construction on a hotel starts at 7am. this new hotel also blocks the ocean view. both myself & my friend have back pains, so we woke up w/ sore backs due to soft beds. we found renovations on old rv outstanding, not an easy task in finding material & attention to detail commands a 5 star.

Unique character - poor surroundings
This place has an unique character and feels like a blast from the past. It is the quintessential California beach trailer experience with a flavor of antiquity. Our trailer was made in 1953 :-) and all of the furnishings are original and kept in the best possible condition. Staff is Fantastic!!!, super friendly and helpful. The drawback is the poor surroundings. The railroad tracks run next to the park. This part is manageable as the trains run few and far between. However, there is a major construction site right in front of the park. On a work day, we were awaken by a truck backing up and people working early in the morning. It is a bit dusty and not a pretty site. This construction should go for at least half year, and eventually will not be relevant and a such problem. Just be mindful that right now, you will not be hearing the waves and birds, but trucks moving in and out. It took away from our experience :-(

Pricey but worth it
Truly a unique experience one has to do even once in a lifetime. Relaxing environment. Very close to the beach. Lots of activities to do especially the free bikes available at Waypoint where you can go biking to the beach and Downtown area where there's lots of nice shops and restaurants. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. The S'mores at night by the fire pit is the perfect way to cap the night. A must try experience!

Highly recommend this unique experience
Such a fun unique place to stay!! The beds are incredibly comfortable foam mattresses. Our kids had a blast using the amenities. S’mores at night was the perfect way to end the day.

Glamping
My husband and I booked our stay for our 13th anniversary. Can’t put into words how cute this places is. We stayed in number six which is the crown . Very comfortable bed and bathroom size was good . In the room you have a teapot, a pour over for coffee and also looseleaf tea with teabags to brew . The person that checked us in was named Joy she is a super nice woman who also ended up giving us a couple wineglasses to help celebrate our anniversary it was very sweet . You’re about a 10-15 minute walk to the Ventura pier and Beach or if you go in the opposite direction you can walk into town which has great shops, restaurants and movie theaters. You can also use their free bikes which I feel is a fantastic amenity. If you have kids there also have corn hole and plenty of space for running around and a couple gas barbecues you can use . At night time they light fire pits and bring you the ingredients to make Smore‘s . My husband and I are planning on making this location our getaway to the beach a few times a year now . A few things to think about there is construction going on on one side which can be a little noisy in the morning and on the other side is the railroad tracks which for us is super special! when the train goes by you not only hear it but you can feel it inside of your trailer. I think you see that this only has 2 1/2 stars when you book it but for us five stars all the way, lots of fun, very memorable and can’t wait to stay again ❤️❤️

Heads or Tails
It was a special place. Each trailer is renovated and updated with modern conveniences, and each also has its own identity. My trailer was called "Heads Or Tails" and featured a penny countertop with a hidden Canadian penny. Coffee and tea are served early morning and afternoon. Two campfires feature comfortable seating with blankets and free smores provided in the afternoon. A booklet is provided with historical information and tips on local hotspots and opportunities for fun. Nights are quiet if you want them to be, with opportunities to meet new people even on slow days. Trains pass by occasionally, shaking the trailers a tiny bit and startling some, but provide a beautiful aesthetic.Waypoint provides ear plugs and eye covers free of charge. There is currently construction, which is noisy and cramps the view of the beach just a few hundred meters away. Everything is within walking distance and there is plenty to do and see for nature lovers, nightlife enthusiasts, history buffs, and explorers. The staff is very friendly and always willing to help. Price is a bit steep at 160 dollars a night, but it was a nice change of pace and scenery to the usual hotel.
