In love!
The most creative, adorable and sweet little hotel! Service was impeccable, room was clean and beautiful. Nice linens, fluffy towels. If you appreciate uniqueness, attention to detail, quirky and different - this is a place for you, and you will absolutely enjoy it. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Lisbon. Few things to know: Bathroom is tiny, and since it is an old building the walls are thin and you will very likely hear your neighbors. If you care about that sorta thing - perhaps find a Marriott to stay in ;)

not in Alfasa
I have a problem wit the description of the location by which is inaccurate. indy is not in Alfasa, it is in a back street in Indente, which may not be safe. I may have been unfortunate but on arrive al a well built vagrant approached me and said I must give him money. the taxi driver said the area was not safe and rent round the block to ensure the vagrant had gone. he said he did not wish to see me knifed, having to spend hours in hospital and with the police. he did not charge me for the detour and was genuinely concerned about my safety. the hotel staff erre very nice, the room was nice and clean and other than security risks I have no issues. breakfast is make your own and i had to wash the dishes to make my breakfast.

I want to love the Indy House but...
My wife described the Indy House best, calling it an upscale Hostel. Easy to get to from the airport in a decent location near all of the major attractions in Lisbon. The young front desk staff members are all very pleasant and accommodating. Hard to beat the “Happiest Hour” from 5:30 to 7:00 pm each day which includes unlimited beer and wine and some snacks. But there are a few downsides to the Indy House. Our superior room was spacious but the bed was uncomfortably hard and we couldn’t control the air conditioning in the room. I’ve also never seen a smaller sink in a hotel bathroom. The free breakfast was ok, but you had to cook your own eggs and clean the dishes when you’re done. The hotel is in a converted school house which gives it a funky vibe but you can hear every step from room above and people opening and closing doors all hours of the night. Can’t beat the price but we’re much more comfortable in our more traditional hotel in Seville right now.
