This is one of our favorite places. Atmosphere, history, nature....this place has it all, a true gem in the Keweenaw. Quiet nights, dark ,starry skies, and a crackling fire. A little piece of Heaven. We keep coming back.🌲

    Nice, but needs improvements

Very cozy and nice. All of the staff were very kind and helpful. Lots of supplies for guests such as towels, shampoo, soap, etc. Things to improve would be providing a full size coffee pot for a 3 bedroom cabin and perhaps at least a microwave if not updating to incorporate a kitchenette with a full size refrigerator. The toilet took up to 3 flushes which was an inconvenience. Also an iron and ironing board would be a nice amenity. Ice machines would also be great. Had to buy in town and the grocery store closed at 7:00. These are things that should be communicated to guests prior to arrival. Also, as others have stated, false advertising about the cable TV. There is none! Screen just says no signal. No big deal for us, but could pose an issue to those traveling with children.

Great staff and great service but if you are looking for any entertainment for your self or for your kids " good luck". They provide you with a TV that only has Roku and you can't get it to work without internet. Internet has a poor signal and it's not open network. If you are working it's not secure. Your phone will not work, because of network. Maybe you need to take some reading books.

Nice place just out of Cooper Harbor

Nice location nice cabins. Beds great, bathroom roomy. Nice fireplace. Inside furniture looks nice but will swallow you up. No out side seating. TV is ruku but internet would not sapport it so not much use to us.

    Keweenau icon

Our stay was very pleasant, quiet and confortable. Just what we wanted. As a fan of UP history, staying here was a no-brainer. Cabin was cozy, well equipped and just the right amount of rustic and the staff is very accomodating to any and all needs. Did I mention the great food at the lodge? Highly recommended

  • 6.0.Good

We reserved a specific cabin, but when we checked in, the cabin was not available, so we had to pay another $25 a night for equal or better lodging. Difficult to access the cabins. From where the car is parked, there was nothing but a dirt slope (often muddy) to get to the steps of the cabin. Not safe or convenient for hauling in lots of gear, and we had plenty. There was a fireplace, but not much firewood was available, so we had to resolve to collecting it from the surrounding woods and grounds. Very rustic: TV did not work, no cell phone service, no microwave, and the internet sevice was all but useless (could only hold a connection for 3 minutes most of the time, very unstable). On the good side, the staff was pleasant and helpful; the cabin was roomy, comfortable (good beds and pillows), and well furnished with towels, linens, and furniture. Plumbing worked well, but power receptacles were few. All in all, we don't regret staying there, as it met our needs, but not our expectations.
