Only plus is the beach
The only good thing was the beach! The hotel was overrun, bad service with rude waiters and bartenders. I don’t blame them though. The hotel seemed very understaffed so the ones there were most likely overworked and over hearing people complaining. Food was not good. Impossible to get chairs at beach because there’s a beach club that takes most of the space and beds there are not included with your “all-inclusive” stay. $250 for a beach bed p/day. Or wake up and be at the beach by 7am to leave towels and your belongings to hold chairs. Same issue by the pools. Impossible to get a waiter at the beach unless you pay for the beach club beds. New Year’s celebration was also not part of our AI stay and was disappointed we had to pay extra however, it was a very good venue. We love a nice beach and had a good time because of it otherwise, it would have been a terrible experience.

Over promise, under deliver
The room was clean and it all looks nice from the outside, but underneath the surface we had a very frustrating stay. It was crowded and we had to wait in lines for most things. Breakfast buffet line in the morning was very long. You have to wait in line for dinner at the buffet if you don't make a reservation for a restaurant in person by 4pm. When we arrived, we checked into our room at 3pm and by the time we got settled it was 4:15pm and they told us it was too late to book a reservation. There were lots of empty tables at restaurants but we were unable to visit any of them that night and had to wait in a long line for the buffet. One day, we had some chairs at the kids' pool and then went to get breakfast. When we came back, the staff had moved our stuff off the chairs and every single chair was full. We waited an hour for a manager to try to help us, which is unacceptable when we have limited time on vacation and we were following the same systems that everyone else was using. It seemed like there were a lot of hoops to jump through or extra things that you couldn't do without paying. And the things that were included often came with long, slow lines. Overall, I would not recommend the Paradisus Cancun and will not stay there again.

Great location!!! Aesthetically beautiful property; but long way to go in terms of customer service. We booked as a large group of 4 families of 15 ppl. Our stay had its ups and downs - ups include the awesome beach and pool area; i can assure you’ll have a good time as its super family friendly and the staff is great. So is the food in some of the restaurants like Flora, Cielo and Cappelo. Now coming to the “not so good”s - the staff in Blue Agawe and Malwa are just terrible; and ruined our trip so many times. They were always angry, inconsiderate to dietary restrictions and sometimes outright rude. Malwa is the restaurant where you have the breakfast and lunch buffets; so it’s not like you can choose a different place if you are looking for these options. For e.g. at Malwa every single day i explained to the chef at the egg station to clean the spatula when using ham/ meat before making a cheese/ vegetable omelette. He said say sorry, wipe it with a paper napkin and immediately proceed to use the same spatula to serve ham. The waiters couldn’t care less to serve coffee even after asking 2-3 times, and sometimes did not even allow to join tables despite telling right at the beginning that we are a large group. They would seat us in smaller tables and then ask us to sit separately even when some of the larger tables were available; for no obvious reason.

My only bad review: 9/2024 Paradisus trip 2nd after excellent 2018 stay. I highly recommended our group’s Paradisus stay due to 2018 experience but was very embarrassed with 2024 experience because it suffered greatly by comparison. We stayed in 3rd pyramid. Loud 1st floor bar music nightly until 11 pm entertained less than 20-30 occupants but music permeated through pyramid disturbing all that wanted romantic evening or to get offspring to sleep. VERY BAD Paradisus planning. We told Expedia check in staff we didn’t want to be disturbed by noise everyone complained about in Expedia reviews & were assured that our rooms wouldn’t be impacted which was a complete Expedia check in staff FALSEHOOD & MISREPRESENTATION. We endured EVERY night with great displeasure–it was too inconvenient to pack up & move all parties to different rooms. We were isolated in resort 1 day due to rain & watched it pour from ceilings all day. Unenthusiastic staff squeegeed slowly all water that fell & was sometimes 2” deep onto travertine tile–a hazard to all. Mold comes with water & great health hazard to all. Malva buffet food was cold & often unidentifiable concoctions so we would eat elsewhere. All resort restaurants serve breads & pastries that are delivered & frozen until served only to taste like cardboard. Most food would be uneaten due to lack of quality–horrible waste of resources. Waitstaff accommodating for tips but food, rainwater and noise at Paradisus VERY disappointing. Traveler BEWARE!
