Clean room, nice designer touches throughout the property, limited menu choices, beach access to La Vaca beach but the beach was pretty much unusable.

Well appointed property with a family vibe. The staff were all wonderful. NOTE if you stay in their tents/yurts please know you hear everything around you and that falls on it. I am not used to sleeping through dogs barking, motorcycles going up hills and rain/seeds/etc dropping. But other than that we loved it! Great location as well up the hill from town but still easy access to it and the park. Great sunset views.

I was afforded the opportunity to stay for a few days, during which I had an unforgettable experience. Adriana supplied us with copious amounts of information regarding nearby attractions and aided us in arranging various excursions. At the same time, Manuel, a consummate professional behind the bar, presented us with a welcome drink, exhibiting his remarkable expertise and genial nature. Breakfast, served daily with a delightful array of options, was expertly overseen by Maday, whose consistent smile and helpful demeanor were evident. My experience was, in a word, superb, and I would undoubtedly return, given the chance.

Staff were amazing 10/10. Adriana was always there when we needed something. There was 4 of us. We had 2 rooms. One of them was like glamping (room6) the other was just basic room. There were no door handles for the toilet/shower room. The shower pressure was soo weak.

Staff are very friendly and accomodating. Very nice atmosphere. If you are used to 4 or 5 star accomodationd you may be dissapointed. The accomodations look nicer on photos than in real life. Having said this if you are ok with a 3star level than this is a nice place. We were upgraded from our room which was described as a bungalow (single room of a restaurant) to a tent so we ended up glamping. Over all a fun different experience just not at 4/5 star level. Loved the staff!!!

I had a great time at Casa Lamia. I will miss the staff, Maday, Brian, and Ariel in particular. The treats Maday left, and the fun she evidentally had doing it, left me thinking that I have never had anyone take such delight in helping me have fun -- and I was married for 20 years! The room has a minimalist backing with tasteful decorations to make it unique and calming, more like a frame for the view out the large window. It was described as Bauhaus Chic, and I think that fits. The view of the ocean from the front is beautiful. The toucan I saw in the tree through the large window was a treasure, along with the Morpho butterfly I saw the day I left. I like getting some exercise, so the walk to Vaca beach was good. Even better was the walk to Macha beach, which has more sand. It is an easy walk to Quepos with most parts of the road having a safe place to walk. I would take a bus/uber/taxi to the town of Manuel Antonio (or to the national park, which is not the town) because I don't think that walk is as safe, but from Manuel Antonio town down to Espadilla beach is easy and safe. The walk from the bus stop is lit at night, which is really helpful. Breakfasts were always good and filling. They were restaurant style, sit down breakfasts, not U.S.-style continental breakfasts and not the C.R. traditional Gallo Pinto. Brian and Ariel both made specialty drinks to mix things up a bit. The hotel caters to couples, but for at least this single guy, it was a treat.

The experience of staying in a hotel's take on jungle glamping is fun, staying in a semi-cavas tent surrounded by jungle and with a private plunge pool was a welcome reprieve to cool off from the Costa Rican sun and humidity. The room was a private bungalow and the aircon kept the space cool and humidity under control. Keeping with the camping vibe, downsides are: a firm mattress and uncomfortable pillows, a limited (but tasty) breakfast - serving a breakfast of the day rather than offering any choice, and a sliding door that separates a toilet / shower, not such a problem for a couple but families or friends may find this lack of privacy an issue. The hotel is situated a few minutes drive from the main road (initially a bit tricky to locate) - there is a big restaurant immediately next door (Ronnie's), else you need to drive (or taxi) for meals out. The benefit is being a quiet and tranquil location, with the feel of being immersed in the rainforest. Note the entrance to the Manuel Antonio National Park is a 15 minute drive. We enjoyed our stay and the staff were attentive - but is feels less boutique and more glamping, so 2/3 nights is the most we would recommend staying.

Dar Lamia exceeded all our expectations. The service was truly amazing, every staff member was warm, attentive, and made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. They also surprised us with a lovely birthday decoration and a bottle of Prosecco, which was such a thoughtful touch and made us feel truly celebrated. The food was delicious, especially breakfast and dinner with the beautiful sunset view. Every dish felt fresh and carefully prepared, and the cocktails were excellent too. You can really feel the love and care they put into every detail. We will definitely be coming back

The first night they gave us the wrong room without notifying us, it was a downgrade from the Superior Bungalow we had booked. The next day they moved us to the correct room, but even though the staff clearly saw we were unhappy about the situation, they didn’t make any effort to address it or make up for the inconvenience. The breakfast was just average and not very good. We decided not to eat there the following day, even though it was included.

The very definition of false advertising. Sits right on top of the road, views are of run down houses and on opposite side of a hill of the beach. The beach shouldnt even be allowed to be pictured in their listing. Rooms are covered in mold and mildew. Pool is overgrown with plants and full of dirt. Their is no view what so ever. I've seen nicer restrooms at a truck stop in the middle of no where. Door does not seal, no windows, just 1 inch wire mesh so the room is full of bugs and geckos. We stayed 5 minutes and left and booked another hotel down the road. Staff was 0 help and said nothing i could do and got 0 money back. If i had paid 10$ for the room thats one thing to expect but for the money they ask for this place it deserves less than 1 star. This was listed as the honeymoon suite so i can't even imagine what the other rooms looked like. Avoid this place at all cost.

My review of this hotel is a bit mixed. I will start with a couple negative items and then end with what we liked. We were not informed that our accommodation was at least four flights of stairs lower than the main level, restaurant and parking. I was suffering from a back injury made worse from travel and hiking and then having to lug baggage up and down all the steps was no fun at all. Then there were parties on two sides of our tent with loud music and people shouting made it impossible to sleep. The tent had bugs and spiders, and I killed about ten insects before crawling in bed. But it was actually a great tittle setup had it not been for the above mentioned items. We had rented and paid the tent for two nights but only stayed one because of our dissatisfaction. And paid again for a different hotel wich was worth every penny not to have to stay there another night.
