This property is in bad need of an update. The carpets are worn. The walls are damaged and dirty. The bathroom in our room had numerous odors emitting from it at different times of the day - something skunky, something sewer-like and just plain mildew. The floor was worn and waterlogged. The shower curtain didn’t reach the entire length of the tub so it was easy to splash water onto the floor while showering.
Someone on the floor above us was running annd stomping around until after 1. The room was stifling hot, with no ac and zero air circulation because the window only cracks open a few inches. There was a fan that we had to leave on the entire time and it did very little to circulate the air or alleviate the odors.
The location is convenient to go between Glasgow and Edinburgh. The town has a train station. The area seemed safe and quiet. It was one of very few available options for a very busy week in Edinburgh. We will not be staying here again.
