Great Place to Stay
We had a wonderful day at the Villa Anakao. The location is right on the water and you get great views of ships passing the island. The pool is lovely and the service is excellent. We had an excellent breakfast and dinner there. Clean and comfortable, I recommend it highly.

Wonderful stay.
Excellent service, wonderful property. We had a beautiful upstairs family suite and really enjoyed the overall stay. The family suite can get very warm in the main living area, although there is air conditioning in the one bedroom. There isn’t a lot immediately around the property, so you will need a vehicle or plan for private transportation or tours if you want to see the island.

Perfect for those who value history and character
Villa Anakao is the perfect secret getaway. The hotel is built on a little piece property which is a paradise in an otherwise commercial part of Port Louis. The father/son team managing the place are true gentlemen and made our stay truly perfect. Like staying in an old manor house rather than a slick motel. Ideal for those who value history and character more than a modern, cookie-cutter resort. There is no swimming beach on the property, but the pool and hammocks were all we needed. The little outside restaurant serves simple Mauritian dishes cooked by local chefs using fresh from market ingredients. We had no desire to travel off property for our meals they were so good.

This is a charming boutique hotel with attentive and friendly staff. Janey the cook and her assistant Anushka prepare delicious meals, which are served directly overlooking the sea. Villa Anakao is not situated in a tourist spot. There is a nearby fish stall on a nearby beach which is worth a visit. This hotel is certainly not posh. It is real Mauritius, but is nevertheless a great place to relax after a day of exploring the island, and a fraction of the cost of the much smarter big brand hotels. I stay there when working in Mauritius and find it to be a welcome place to retreat to.

Wonderful hospitality. I was suffering from digestive upset (contracted earlier in my trip), and the staff and cooks went out of their way to help get me rested and on the mend. The surrounding area is thoroughly urban, but Villa Anakao was an island of tranquility.

Beautiful view, just as presented in listing ad. The room was spacious and nicely designed, loved the terrace space. If you're driving there be sure to have google maps available, roads off the main motorway are not clearly signed, I arrived in the dark to make it a bit more of a challenge. Once found then no probs.

Very nice and homely feeling place to spend few nights. Everything was really clean and the garden was amazingly nice with all the trees and flowers. Great service with breakfast, and even lunch and and dinner available for reasonable price. Nice and big enough pool, good beds in the rooms. No access from the property to the beach but nice views to it. Local beach was very close but it was quite dirty with lots of plastic bottles and other trash. Easy bus access to Port Luis and many beaches & other nice places (like the botanical garden) to visit in driving distance.

Doble booking made in our room. We booked for a suite double room and the room was not available. We ask for special breakfast as stated in the webpage and confirmed by email, and during stay the breakfast consist only in bread and cheese!

Wonderful place. It's a small (less than 10 room) hotel, with a family feel. The rooms are clean and spacious, and many open out onto the encircling veranda. The grounds are intimate, and while there is no direct beach access, there are nice views of the ocean. Breakfast is included, and did not disappoint- full service with choices. Dinner is also available at very reasonable prices- you can opt in to their daily special, or if that doesn't suit, there are other options available. You'll need to ask about those, however. All meals are al fresco in either the thatched dining cabana or on the veranda. There's a neat self serve bar for beer and soft drinks- for anything else ask at the front desk. Service is marvelous. The staff was very willing to help with taxis and tours, which is nice, because unless you have a rental car it's a bit off the beaten track. I highly recommend!
