"After ascending the stairs from the street we self checked in at a very pretty lobby. Then went to our room. With a rustic aesthetic the room itself was very nice however the balcony really can only seat one comfortably. The room was clean and tidy. The ensuite could have more hooks for hanging clothes. The hotel itself is right by the water the only 2 minutes walk to the lake. Would definitely recommend. "

"Hotel Esperides is a lovely quiet hotel on the main road just across from the road into Myrtos, a quiet tourist town on the southern coast of Crete. Wonderful breakfast for 9 euros per person, with large assortment of foods. Small elevator available. Very accommodating when we arrived early from the ferry to Heraklion, Crete; we were able to purchase breakfast even before check in, and they got 2 rooms ready for us an hour or so before their usual check in time. "Booked for 15 nights as we where on a late flight 11pm, didn't know we could have kept the room on until 6pm for 20e, Brilliant service from start to end, no problems at all , The room was basic but we are used to this in Greece after all you only shower and sleep there so no need for glam as long as it's clean and a comfy bed which it had and the price we paid was well worth it. Would definitely recommend and won't hesitate to rebook when we return one day."

"Staff (5*), Hotel (3.5*), Meals (2*) Negative start, we booked a superior double and we got a single with a small double against the wall (2nd person crawls on the bed), 1 side table, 1 coffee ☕ confirmed it was a single. Positive, Robert arranged an upgrade (extra cost). Appreciated upgrade but disappointed with the original room allocation. The staff were awesome (Stella, Joanna, Nassos and Djemalie Facilities as expected, communal toilets clean, bar was on occasion busy and pool loungers...
