Hotel facilities good, some staff not so much
I had a mixed stay at Victoria Phu Quoc Hotel. For every good aspect of the hotel there is a small negative. For example: The hotel itself is actually a really nice building and the rooms are modern, but the actual street itself is just dirt road and broken concrete where you can really twist or sprain an ankle at night since there are no lampposts.
I booked a double bed room and while the room was very comfortable with great air conditioning, there was an additional twin size bed in there just taking up massive amounts of space where my luggage or other things should have went. This was an annoyance mostly because my girlfriend and I had a decent amount of luggage.
Housekeeping does a good job so no complaints there.
All of these cons are really nothing major, but I had a major grievance when I asked the receptionist to call me a taxi. The taxi driver they called ended up being an incredible scam artist and the receptionist did nothing to try to fix the situation. It was really poor on the hotel's end, especially since they work with these people.
