Overall this was a good stay
This was our first time in a Ryokan so we were not sure what to expect. The staff was very nice and welcoming, and catered to our every need. The room was in traditional style where you sleep on futons, and have breakfast and dinner served to your room by the nice lady that is with you through your whole stay.
Bathroom has a japanese toilet, and there is no shower in the room, instead you shower in the Onsen. What we did is use the Onsen, then have the evening shower, and eat dinner.
The food served is traditional, and for some can be challenging, but in my opinion most of what we had was tasty. You can also talk to the hotel if you have certain requirements or prefer something different and a bit more western.
The futons were OK, and there were extra pillows in the closet. The onsen is nice and relaxing.
The location is also very good because it's right next to the Hakone Ropeway station.
The hotel is quite old and not renovated, but in my opinion, it adds to the "magic" of experiencing a traditional stay.
However, it can be cleaner.
Overall a good stay, and we thank the hotel staff and the nice lady who was with us.
