"My daughter and I had a wonderful stay at Grand Coastal. The rooms and grounds were bright and clean. Drinks and food were amazing. What made the stay extra special was the staff who are extremely friendly & helpful. Special shoutout to Tiffany at the front desk, Sandy (hostess), Robert (server) who went above and beyond. Big mention to Jashua (server) who was extremely friendly and intuitive making each dining experience special.
Nothing was really within walking distance but Grand Coastal has a driver who will take you places for a fair price. Raj K took us around several times and he was extremely friendly and was a safe driver.
Next time I visit Guyana we will definitely book with Grand Coastal as the service is top notch!"
"I was traveling with my 85 year old father and we needed to check in a few days earlier than anticipated. The staff were incredibly helpful and found us the best possible room to make him comfortable and safe. The disabled bathroom was the best we had seen in Georgetown and staff provided us with additional options to keep my father as safe as possible. Would definitely stay again."
" I stayed at the room at the front of the property which is larger, has access to a deck, comfortable chairs and a table, and lots of natural lighting. The large shower had ample hot water and pressure, and there is a microwave and mini-refrigerator. The AC is ample, and a small fan and emergency lantern are nearby. There may be TV in the future.
To address mosquitoes, the manager, Gilbert, provided each night a coil which burned for several hours and there is also a mosquito zapper lamp next to the bed.
I felt safe. Gilbert, the owner, lives on the property. There is a 24 hour taxi stand across the street which provides eyes on the street at all times. You pass three doors, two requiring keys, to enter the room.
I felt safe from crime while walking to Sheriff Street and several blocks up and down that busy area, but there are no sidewalks and cars drive in the shoulder and at fast speeds, so take care. There are also a large number of stray dogs rambling around, but none was ever aggressive.
The location of Carri’s had several advantages: (1) the 24 hour taxi stand across the street, (2) an acceptable restaurant and sports bar “OMG” on the corner. (3) a grocery store which accepts credit cards, “Survival,” just a couple of blocks to the right on Sheriff Street (4) a classy coffee shop with pastries and sandwiches “Blue Bel one block to the left on Sheriff Street (5) a high quality Indian restaurant , Aagman, a few blocks to the left. Again, there are no sidewalks ."
