"We absolutely loved staying at the Umami Hotel! It was extremely clean. Everything smelled fresh from the linens to the towels. We had an amazing breakfast every morning with fresh fruit and local cuisine. The service was spectacular! The front desk was very helpful for all our needs even ordering dinner from local restaurants to be delivered to the hotel. We had massages during our stay also and they were heavenly. I know of no other place that offers just a great vibe. Being one with nature, watching and hearing them is wonderful. This was our 20-year anniversary and the 2nd we have been a guest.

"The hotel breakfast buffet and pools are good. However the property is small and sometimes you can smell cows when you are in the jacuzzi. Hot springs are small. Food and cocktails are very expensive. We stay 3 nights for the cost of $1,600 which is very expensive for a small property. You can’t walk to the forest as it is small. No birds or animal sightings at the hotel. "

"The place is 200 m from Playa Chiquita entrance (cars can only go about 100 m, then it's end road and you have to walk anyway).
They have a nice restaurant inside the property with really good food and you can avoid the crowds in town.

"The property grounds are beautiful. Location is great. We stayed in one of the new cabins with two beds, perhaps specifically catered for a family (we had two young kids ages 9 and 12). It has a beautiful outdoor bathroom attached to the cabin (shower, toilet, sinks are all open with a half wall and greenery to provide some cover. The odd thing is the door only locks from the outside and there's no way to lock it when you're inside the cabin...so as a young family, it didn't feel as safe knowing...
