"Lovely country pub with bedrooms in an annex around a pretty courtyard. Very comfortable bed, everything was spotless in the room. Ideal location for visiting Highclere Castle. Breakfast and dinner in the restaurant was very good."

"Excellent check in. Very friendly staff. Extremely dog
friendly.
Room was spacious. All the fire doors in the corridors were a bit difficult to manage, but otherwise good.
Food and drink was excellent and bar staff great.
Excellent location being in the middle of the high street and the canal very close by for walking.
Outdoor areas of the hotel were rather scruffy / dirty. Not a particularly nice area to sit close to the car park."

"Basic motel but did the job for a stopover.
Bed was comfortable.
Staff polite.
We were in room 3 and when using the double socket, the right socket crackled so we didnt use this one. The lest side was ok."

"Beautiful village and great village pub feel. We had dinner at the pub and it was really good. The bathroom looked brand new and had a great powerful shower. Only thing to note - which was not a problem for us but could be to those with limited mobility is that I felt the stairs to the room were quite steep."

"The Plough is in a very picturesque area and is also very conveniently situated and easy to get to. The room was comfortable and the pub itself had a friendly feel with an excellent menu. Beside quite a busy road but it was quiet at night. Would definitely stay again if I was in the area.

, good breakfast! Bed badly made and carpet needed a vacuum. Room not properly stocked - had to ask for mug and spoon. Comfy bed though and nice spicy soup for dinner. Barman and friends chatted loudly and banged around below my room until 2 in the morning. So bad night’s sleep! Loudly banging front door to pub right below single room. "

"My husband and I stayed here for 1 night and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The surrounding areas/gardens were kept lovely (especially the bunnies!). The towels, bed linen and pillows were all of good quality & our room was very spacious. Some TLC needed in areas such a grouting, limescale build up on the bath taps and chipped varnish on floor board but for the cost paid (£104) it was good value. Car park is just out front which was convenient and there is a services opposite with a...

"This was disappointing. Nothing special about this hotel. It was not clean. The staff was not helpful. We ate at Chippy's nearby and that staff gave us recommendations for our time in that area. Changed our trip in the best way. "
