A walking map of the town was very helpful. Abbey, National Trust Gardens all good to visit. Wide range of interesting shops for residents and visitors. We visited Floors Castle in Kelso before arriving in Melrose- well worth a visit

We don't want to see huge American chains here so please support local business. A lovely place holding on to its original charm!

Not many shops open on a Sunday, we went to the Abbey then had lunch in Market Square and chilled out.
"We had a very warm informative welcome. The room was at the back which helped it be quieter when the private parties could be loud when they were on in the function room. It looks as if some updating is happening and needs new window frames and closers. The bed was comfy. Hospitality tray was great. In the bar the staff were great. You were served quickly and they kept the bar tidy. They were very friendly. We had bar sharing plate snack which was amazing. We didn’t have breakfast as not breakfast eaters so can’t comment about that.
We loved our stay and everything about the hotel."
"A really well run hotel and a pleasure to stay in. We overnighted on our way back from a tour in Scotland and were very impressed it outshone other hotels on our trip and was great value for money. The food offerings were really good too. We will definitely return. "
"Great location for the job i was on, everything i needed and very well priced compared with others around the area, On street parking right outside hotel and never felt worried about leaving van on the street, food was excellent and a local shop within walking distance definitely will return when back in the area"
