This place takes you way back
The place needs an up date. Everything is old and out dated. Place could be better cleaned and place was so cold in the breakfast room and front foyer as though they had the doors and windows open. Our visit was early November 2024.

Heater and bathroom fan to loud to sleep, needs over haul asked where to eat said 2 miles down the road never said where. Only paper cups for coffee no glasses. Worst experience ever 😪
I have bad knees, and had to climb 2 flights of stairs to get to my room. Couldn't use the pool, that would've been another flight of stairs BELOW check in. Mattress was hrd, VERY uncomfortable, not much sleep. Toilet broke in the morning, and was too low to the floor.

I hate to do this but it feels like an warning should be provided for this hotel. The pictures are not accurate to the current condition of the hotel's overall state. It is old, dated, and smells terrible. It seems to be derived from the carpet being incredibly old and absorbed decades of odors, plus I believe that there are individuals that reside in the hotel and do their own cooking. The hotel at different locations smelled like mildew, stale cigarette smoke, and body aroma mixed with over cooked food. That being said, our room was clean, it just smelled bad when we entered it. Opening the windows helped but it is in an industrial area so trucks were coming and going early in the AM. The staff was very nice and hopefully they can replace the carpeting and eliminate most of the unpleasant aromas.

On the second night we woke up to bed bugs biting my partner. When we went the front desk, the attendant was not very helpful and implied that we brought in the bed bugs. We asked for a refund and he told us that the manager does not work on Sundays and he could not do that. An hour later he called back and offered us 50% off the second night. Also we asked for plastic bags to bag up our stuff and it was like we were asking for too much. Finally, we received the bags. I am very disappointed with the service and the attempt to blame us for them when we have never had them in our lives.

Overall property dated. Furniture in the room we had that was previously broken was repaired with duct tape. Fan in bathroom was incredibly loud. Fridge compressor loud....needed to shut off the fridge to sleep. HVAC unit didn't work properly. Hallways smelled. Tub filled up with water when we showered. This was one of the lower cost hotels we found in the Kittery, ME area...but lesson learned you get what you pay for. Only bright spot was the staff was very friendly.
