10/10 Exceptional

An established and historic hotel built of Bath stone just outside Corsham,Wilts off the A4 road to Bath. The grounds of 2/3 acres are beautifully maintained and with a tennis court. Excellent all round

Won’t go back

Service was poor and the hotel seemed unclean especially on the stair wells. Plus it seems hotels.com overcharged me and I’m still waiting for a response.

Peace and beauty, with great staff, lovely grounds

Brilliant really peaceful place away from the madding crowd. Staff were brilliant especially reception who were friendly and helpful. Really lovely gardens English cottage garden areas and terraces and court yards to sit and relax, highly recommend

Good comfortable stay

Very friendly welcome, great that they have EV chargers, comfortable stay and clean room. Restaurant is a bit pricey, but a captive audience I guess. Will stay again.
Tom, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Lovely building however all areas that we saw could do with a big refresh, upgrade or tidy up. The bed was comfortable, the breakfast nice but there seemed to be limited staff.
JEREMY, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Beautiful rooms and venue, plus surrounding gardens. Very good food and welcoming for dogs. My only small criticism was the shower which was just a jet of water.
Dave, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

The hotel and staff were very good my only criticism is that the restaurant was a cold room , although the food was good it was not very comfortable there and we feel we rushed our food for that reason
terrie, 1-night trip

We had a lovely stay at the hotel and we’re made very welcome. The only downside
Talitha, 3-night trip

8/10 Very good

The setting in the gardens is very nice and the house has a nice atmosphere. The bed was very comfortable and I had a good night's sleep, but the room was a bit tired.
Monika, 2-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Lovely location and garden and helpful staff. Breakfast waiting times during the weekend were very long. Recommend filling out forms with options the bight before and splitting the guests into time slots.
Ioana, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Beautiful place but improvements required.

Beautiful location and buildings, with nice gardens. However we had to wait 5 minutes before someone could check us in. The room carpet was quite worn and dirty, a teaspoon was stained with lipstick. Showering was a bad experience as the water wasn't very hot. Poor acoustic insulation made the sleep disrupted, especially squeaky boards were heard at nighttime. The breakfast was ok, by the way.
Francesco, 1-night trip

4/10 Fair

The buildings and grounds were beautiful. The interior, especially our room, was markedly tired. The staff were young and appeared to be over worked. The fried breakfast was unpleasant on the first day, so I chose to only have cereal on the second day. I would not recommend my friends or family to stay there. There is a lot that the owner/s have to invest time and money into, to get the hotel to the standard that reflects the nightly rate.
Nick, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

Characterful property which is getting tired in places. The shower was extremely weedy, the cold tap in the sink wouldn’t turn off properly and dinner was grossly over priced at £35 for a small portion of smoked salmon and mushroom risotto worth £20 max. If you stay here eat somewhere else.
