6/10 Good

Staff very courteous room clean and comfortable if a bit tired looking hotel could use a face lift otherwise good

The bed was comfortable, was a bit dated though. Didn’t have much option for breakfast but was a good size.

Hotel room lovely and staff very efficient and friendly would definitely stay again

6/10 Good

Great staff, shame about the hotel.

Ample parking, friendly staff. Very dated and definitely not the best sleep ive had, bed was solid and creaky floorboards above me didnt help matters. Clean bed linen and fresh towels, breakfast was reasonable but little choice either hot or cold. Bar also called last orders at 20:30.

8/10 Very good

Pub downstairs was great. Friendly staff but delays in check in and breakfast due to limited staff.

The breakfast was a disgrace, we paid extra for breakfast which turned out to be toast and a yogurt!!
Alistair, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

Check in smooth and informative , very pleasant. Breakfast nice and sufficient. Staff very nice.

8/10 Very good

All was superb EXCEPT for the vacuuming which left a lot to be desired. However the staff everywhere were supremely helpful and friendly. Thanks to our stay at The National Hotel, we were able to contact a taxi that took us to a very small area east of Dingwall to honour our ancestors, so we are still pleased and would stay again.

The shower had two temperatures - Ice cold or slightly less cold. The cold tap ran hot water and the hot tap ran room temperature. The decor is very dated, worn furniture. As a positive - parking is free and staff are nice.

First night heard music downstairs from our room blast what sounded like the same song with loud beat till 1:00 am. Half owner said there wasn't anything she could do about it. Hotel restaurant food was good and handy to have nearby. Rooms small, but sufficient.
Winifred, 3-night trip

6/10 Good

The overnight stay was fine, the room and condition of the areas I felt were in need of some refurbishment. The room carpet for instance was showing signs of the netting. The shower however was excellent.

The desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. She gave us directions to a great restaurant. My personal favorite was the extra large shower with endless hot water.
Armanda, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

The area around the outside of the hotel and where you parked your car was a bit dirty. The property itself was OK but when we arrived it looked closed up and not very inviting.
Mary, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Comfortable hotel, outside Inverness in the village of Dingwall. Good restaurant. Nice room.
Gary, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

Nice room and bathroom. There appeared to be a lack of staff for the number of people staying. This was very evident at breakfast on the Sunday. The bar closing at 9pm was also very dissapointing
Cameron, 3-night trip

Had a good stay but breakfast wasn't worth 18 pound ahead
Darren, 1-night trip

If looks was the key factor for the room it deserves a 4 but when the 2 main light did not work, TV shuts down after 5 minutes, could not take a shower because only scalding hot water came out, took 2 people to open window a couple inches with blocks of wood I can only give the room a 2 out of 5. Breakfast same rating as room as most of the food that should be hot food was cold.

VERY Basic

Less than impressed with this venue. Extremely dated - probably quite pleasant in its heyday. Very few staff (only saw 2 during our overnight stay, although they were pleasant and polite enough) - seems they have to look after the hotel and adjoining bar/cafe. Room very cramped, only way to ventilate was by placing a piece of wood under the window - which was not easy to lift. No fan available when we asked. No refrigerator in room, no hairdryer. One of the sheets was dirty (looked like bird faeces). Would not use the rear car park, as did not feel car would be secure there. Photo very misleading. Could only rate this accommodation as VERY basic, although it provided a roof over our heads for the night. However, would definitely not recommend.

Paid £71 for double room only for 2 adults. Main door locked with note saying ring this no. for attention. Immediately answered and told to enter through bar on right hand side. Poor guy on bar doing everything -serving/checking in etc etc. Hotel is a little dated and needs modernisation. Room was small (double bed against wall) . Ensuite was good -shower/sink/loo etc. Everything was clean but a little shabby. Room above arrived home late (midnight) and proceeded to get his steps in walking up and down the floor. Fridge unit outside was noisy as it turned on/off throughout the night. But for £71 I guess it was fair. Probably wouldn't stay here again but would spend a little more.

National Hotel were fab. Hotels.com were crap

Hotels.com were supposed to have moved out stay from the Friday to the Saturday. Despite speaking to “Jefferson” to arrange this, when we arrived on Saturday, the hotel had had no communication from hotels.com! Luckily we saw Kate on reception, she booked us in to a spare twin room as our double was not available. She was brilliant. Hotels.com were not……. I would stay here again but would definitely not book through hotels.com
Leanne, 1-night trip

Taking advantage

The room was so heavily cleaned with a strong cleaner I had headaches all night, it smelt horrible, even having the windows open for hours did not help. The fridge was closed but turned off, so it smelt when I went to use it. The place is very very tired and not worth the amount asked per night. Another highlands hotel taking advantage of the season and offering very little in return
1-night trip

6/10 Good

On this visit got a family room which had a king and single bed. This made moving around difficult due to limited passage between beds. There was no milk in the brew making kit. The shower gel was empty. The curtains did not fully cover the windows meaning the late sunlight shone through. Again a miss max of room furniture. The bathroom is modern and reasonably well fitted out though the floor was titled. Only stay here because Inverness properties have increased their prices to excessive levels.
Raymond, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

La atención del personal ha sido excelente. La habitación tiene cosas que mejorar. No hay ningún perchero, en la ducha no hay nada donde apoyar los productos de higiene y la presión de agua era muy pobre.
Ana Maria, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

The parking was round the back of the hotel with no lighting, so it didn't feel safe leaving the car. Even walking to the car at night felt unsafe
Rajinder, 5-night trip

Excellent new restaurant just opened next to hotel. Food Turkish, not too spicy and good. The bar was lively and pleasant place for a drink
