8/10 Very good

Nice place. Food really good and great menu. Only negative, the cess pit needed emptying which is adjoining the terrace and, as it was a hot hot day, the aroma wafted across the terrace which did add a bit of a downer on the enjoyment of the terrace.

Lovely staff and accommodated us despite the Expedia booking not feeding through to the hotel computer system which was incredibly embarrassing and stressful for me on arrival. Not the hotels fault but Expedias.

An Inn to be Visited!!

A fab little inn. So pleased i found thus place to stay, situated on outskirts of Brockenhurst village. Welcomed by Manager Dave Hutton who explained everything we needed to know re booking in process, breakfast times and info regarding evening menus. Shown to room which was absolutely perfect and the little touches inc toiletries, home made cookies with wide range of teas/hot chocolate/water/milk in fridge. Nothing was to much trouble when speaking to sny of the staff. This is a dog friendly inn for dog lovers. Constructive criticism: May be an idea to put some type of air freshener/room scent on stair/corridor leading to rooms, purely as Non-doggy owners notice the very strong smell of dogs, particularly if the dogs have wet coats etc after walks.

Was hoping to walk from the station the mile to the hotel but the road didn't have a footpath. Would have been good to know.

Okay stay

This hotel is on the main Lymington road so the traffic passes non stop. The bedrooms have no windows except roof windows with electric blinds and as the rooms appear to be in roof space they have very thick and efficient fire doors but these are very noisy and shake the building. The rooms are well appointed, freshly made biscuits and a fridge with water and milk, the bathroom was clean. It was beautiful weather and the garden, which was lovely, was very busy but the staff were pleasant and coped well. The food was frozen pub grub, well presented and okay, I could see into the open modern kitchen and it was very clean. Dogs are welcome and almost all did, which can be overwhelming. My impression was that a decent hands on manager was required.

Lovely attentive staff . Great food . Room was well equipped clean and comfortable but only a roof light window so quite claustrophobic.

Beautiful old road side inn with rooms. Staff very helpful and friendly. Rooms well appointed and breakfast delicious. WiFi didn’t work which given the expensive price point was disappointing.

One nice stay at The Filly Inn

Booked the room for a family event nearby. Were able to check in at 2pm, which was a bonus. Met by the owner who was very friendly and helpful and shown to our room which was very pleasant and clean. A Dyson fan on the room was much appreciated on a very hot day. Comfortable bed, great shower and nice breakfast. No negatives. Would highly recommend.

Exceptional Weekend at The Filly Inn

A Truly Exceptional Weekend at The Filly Inn Our recent Friday to Sunday stay at The Filly Inn was nothing short of fantastic, and we departed feeling incredibly relaxed and well-cared for. From the moment we arrived, the entire team made us feel truly welcome, and their dedication to hospitality shone through in every detail. The rooms were wonderfully comfortable, offering a perfect haven after a day of exploring. We particularly appreciated the thoughtful touches – the luxurious products provided and the delightful fresh cookies awaiting us in our room were a lovely surprise and indicative of the Inn's attention to guest comfort. The food was, quite simply, incredible. We ended up dining at the Inn two nights in a row, a testament to the consistently delicious and expertly prepared dishes. Complementing the superb cuisine was an equally impressive wine selection, offering something for every palate. There was even live music on Sunday afternoon providing the perfect end to our weekend. While every member of the team contributed to our wonderful experience, we must extend a special mention to Martyn, Lauren, and Alex. Their professionalism, warmth, and genuine desire to ensure we had a perfect stay were evident throughout. Martyn, in particular, went above and beyond, making us feel genuinely valued guests. His exceptional service truly made our visit extra special and memorable.

Wonderful stay, super hosts, couldn't ask for more

The welcome I received was super and, from the get-go, all the staff were extremely happy to help in any way, possible. Martyn was a super star with nothing being too much trouble or inconvenient! I had the rather embarrassing situation of having my (company) credit card declined upon arrival however, with a simple smile and very pleasant attitude, Martyn waved away the immediate situation with a view that 'we can look at it again, tomorrow'. Unfortunately, the beer was too good and the room too comfortable for me to make evening dinner. 6 hours of driving pre-arrival also played a part. I certainly wish I had made dinner because the menu looked wonderful and the breakfast the following morning was simply exquisite! Warm croissants followed by a cooked breakfast didn't help my waistline but it certainly made me feel extremely content! Overall, and I commented the same when (thank goodness) my card worked the following morning, I will CERTAINLY be back once work brings me to this beautiful part of the UK once more.

4/10 Fair

When we checked in and went to the room, it was in the eaves which made it feel small and a bit claustrophobic. There were 2 Velux windows but they didn’t let in much light or air meaning it was quite stuffy. I asked if there were any rooms with windows but was told all rooms were in the roof due to building restrictions and it being a listed building. If I’d have known this, I wouldn’t have booked but there was nothing on the website to say this. The room look ok on the surface but was very dusty. We decided to we didn’t want to stay so got a refund and went and stayed somewhere else. It was a shame as the location was good and the pub looked nice.

I enjoyed my stay here but I think it's just a bit overrated Room was lovely but very warm Food was good in parts but underwhelming in others. Basic things not hard to get right. 'Saute' potatoes swimming in fat, chips cheap and frozen.
