Nice hotel, quiet and very zen. The grounds are simply perfect with lush gardens, the pool, the spa and the sauna. The staff is professional, pleasant and helpful. We had a little mishap at the restaurant, but they resolved it perfectly. The only minor downside is the rusticity of the room, but it didn’t bother us that much since the rest was so nice.

Atitlan lake is one of the only places that you feel peace and quiet but hotel bamboo is a perfect place to enjoy everything. We love to come with the entire family to enjoy the nature and the good food of the hotel. We strongly recommend this place for everyone who love to be surrounded by nature.

Our experience overall was outstanding and the grounds were incredibly beautiful. The only complaint was the pool was quite chilly, which was a bit disappointing for our kids.

Peaceful hotel on the shore of Atitlan Lago.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. When we arrived late in the day, the staff were rushed off their feet working for a wedding. One of the staff quickly came to help us check in and organised a pizza for us as it was all the kitchen could manage. We sat at a table outside right next to the lake - a beautiful place for a restaurant. The gardens were very peaceful and we spent much time on our verandah watching the humming birds. There was a hot spa and an outdoor pool, the use of both were great ways to get over the long walks that we took each day.

Santiago Atitlan visit.
Very nice, comfortable property.
Staff extremely friendly and helpful.
Two times they helped me find a place to watch the MLB playoffs. I am an early riser and each morning I was served coffee earlier than the restaurant opened.

Not great
The staff was great! However, they could not make up for the mold covered bathroom or the rock hard bed. The location is not great. Not too many choices for restaurants. We do not recommend this side of the lake.

Nice hotel, needs some love
First off the hotel is outside of town and is quiet. Situated on a beautiful lake with stunning views. The gardening is gorgeous and the pool, hot tub, sauna, and restaurant are nice. Staff are wonderful as well.
That said, the hotel could use some love. There's a bit of mold in the bathroom and things are a bit outdated. No safe or hair dryer on the room.
Overall the hotel is still good to stay at but could be stellar if they put a little love into it.

What a wonderful place.
This place was absolute luxury from the top notch customer service to the outdoor hot tub. We loved being able to relax at this hotel and they even arranged a boat back to Pana right up to their dock.

Beautiful spot on Lake Atitlan
This is a beautiful hotel just outside Santiago Atitlan with it's own dock. A little challenging to get to from Antigua. You have to take a car to Panajachel and then a boat, but totally worth it. Hot tub, pool, lovely gardens and great kayaking.
Restaurant is pleasant but best food in town is Posada de Santiago.

Fantastic hotel
You can't go wrong with this hotel. Everything is unbelievably nice. The views, the pool, the gardens; it is a tropical paradise. Volcano San Pedro looms above palm trees. Flowers everywhere. The only bad thing is that you will compare all future hotels with this one and they don't stand a chance. Good food, fantastic service. Be sure and go kayaking; a great way to view life around Santiago. Not to be missed!

Wonderful setting on the lake - don't miss it!
We really enjoyed the Hotel Bambu. The staff was wonderful and helpful. The hotel was quiet and comfortable. We ate in the restaurant for most of our meals - as there were not a lot of choices in town. My only suggestions is that the restaurant offer more authentice Guatemalan food for us foodies. We basically ate breakfasts, hamburgers and pasta at the restaurant since there were not many exotic choices. The breakfasts were hardy and good.

It was truly paradise!
It was very difficult to find a hotel that seemed safe, easy to get to and would offer a unique experience. After a lot of search we found the Bambu and what you see on the pictures is what you get. Great location on the water, great staff, food and a great selections of wines.
For two nights we got a bottle of wine and set on the shore watching the sunset.... pure paradise!

Great views for some rooms
We had 2 rooms. Both were booked as lake view but only one was. The lake view room was great, large, with wonderful views. It was called casa de tush. I recommend this room. The other was small and no view. It was left poorly attended with out clean towels and toilet paper. When requested it took ours to get them.

Restful and relaxing
Santiago de Atitilan is not the most beautiful of cities. However, the Bambu Hotel, set in magnificent gardens, made our stay there very enjoyable.
