I was a little bit skeptical at first: the property is reached by a one lane road, off a small two lane road, off a regional road. Typical Scotland. Yet, once there, it was magnificent. The cottage was adjacent to two cottages and next to small bio domes which seemed interesting to stay also. Our cottage was very spacious, clean, airy, great kitchen and despite its perceived isolation had all possible amenities. Very nice host who welcomed us with a bottle of wine. It was beautiful to wake up and walk around the property surrounded by beautiful and quiet scenery. I was expecting a flock of sheep to come by anytime. Despite its isolation, the property is in fact only 5/10 minute by car to Dunkeld where one can find all the amenties, restaurants, pubs, etc. Next time, I will stay one week.

Book it now, fabulous.
A beautifully built and presented stone cottage nestled in the hills a stones throw away from Dunkeld. Gemma was there to meet us and settle us in and left us with a complementary bottle of wine. So quiet, clean and comfortable with lovely views, Kennacoil is an ideal location for exploring this stunning part of Scotland.

I only booked for one night and had a pod for 3 people and a pod for 6 people. The pod for 6 people was ideal for us having a set of bunk beds, a large double bed and a futon bed and was also pet friendly. There was also space for luggage and for our camping chairs which we brought in for seating. The pod for 3 was compact with really only space for 3 people to sleep which is what we expected. The toilets and showers were fantastic as was the well equipped kitchenette. The pods are basic which is exactly what you would expect and pay for. Just the job!!!

A lovely spot
A lovely wee cottage in a beautiful setting. Immaculately clean! Perfect for a short mother/daughter break. We loved watching swallows swooping about and feeding their chicks.

Short Break
We arrived slightly early at the apartment, there was a number to call and within 5 minutes we were met by Gemma. She showed us around, gave us sll the information we require, not to mention a bottle of wine. The accommodation is superb, warm and cosy. Everything you'd need for a relaxing break, tv, board games, dvds, fully equiped kitchen with washer/dryer and all incredibly clean. We absolutely loved it, do much so we booked an additional night whilst here. A short walk and you're at the Hermitage, short drive you can be in Dunkeld,Pitlochry or Perth. Train station 5 mins away too. All in all, we loved it and most certainly will be returning. We stayed in the pet friendly apartment due to our 2 frenchies coming with us, loads of dog walking near by too.

We had a wonderful stay in the camping pod, what beautiful views of the countryside. We particularly enjoyed sitting around the firepit and the kids loved running around the hills. We will definitely be back, thank you!

Perfect camping pods.5*
Lovely alternative to a tent. Perfect when the weather is a little unpredictable like summer 2024. Warm clean showers, lovely little communal kitchen with toaster fridge and microwave. The dogs loved the local dog walks. Views are amazing!!

Kennacoil was stunning!!! Gemma the host was so hospitable from the moment we arrived and was easy to reach if we needed anything. We stayed in Craiglaggan and as a family of three this apartment was everything we needed and more. The apartment had everything you need away from home. The property was clean and modern but it didn’t take away from the stunning scenery that wraps around the property.

Amazing, take your own mattress
Gorgeous location, setup and the host was so friendly. Don’t rely on the mattresses they give you as they are really thin and make for a super uncomfortable night

4/10 Fair

Sorry to Kennacoil as I’ve never stayed in a pod before and I simply hated it, I couldn’t wait to get away. Obviously this is just my personal opinion so I’m sure many people have loved their stay here, me however I will never stay in a pod again for as long as I live.

4/10 Fair

The pod was clean and a picnic table was provided outside, and a fire pit, which were nice. (Own firewood needed, but sold on property.). The pod was exactly the size of the 4 mattresses provided. A tiny lamp and fan in a tiny shelf were the only other items inside. Thankfully we were only 3 people so we “had room” for our bags. If we had been 4 we really would not have been able to have anything inside with us.

Beautiful kennacoil
We stayed in a cottage overlooking the valley, we enjoyed two nights here after travelling down from brora. The hosts were very welcoming and accommodating. The cottage was well equipped and the beds are super comfy. Lots to see and do in the area, we hope to be back next year.
